The only thing that'll stop them playing another 150 games is injury imo.

Triple towers so opposition can waltz it out of our forward 50? No thanks. We've suffered enough from Sack Scotts.

Just get competent small forwards when it goes out the back or drops in front of it. We're so vanilla up forward and can't rely on our mids.

We need a Luke Breust.
Larkey plays like a flanker. His goal kicking has two gears: leading (with perfect delivery) and ground ball gets/crumbing.

We currently only have Comben (7 games, injury prone) who can make a contest and bring it down to the ground. Larkey doesn’t even do that. So having an extra crumbing forward (while I agree is needed) probably isn’t going to be cost effective until we have two kpfs who can contest, mark and bring the ball to ground.

While I'm also frustrated by Larkey's lack to running towards the ball carrier, I think we also have to acknowledge a longstanding issue of our players bombing it as far into the f50 as they can.

This.

Larkey has work rate but needs to play on the second defender and create space. An extra key forward allows serious mismatch for Curtis and Zurhaar too.

Yep. Watching our blokes bomb is like watching re-runs of Memphis Belle !

Souvas biggest problem by far is his refusal to lead at the ball carrier. He is hell bent on leading toward goal expecting an 80m kick over the back. He’s been doing it for some time. Needs to stamp it out of his game ASAP.

His 2nd biggest issue is his inability to read hurried kicks into our forward line from his teammates. His opponents react so much quicker. Not sure that’s fixable though.
I know its been some time now, but it still makes me do a double take when I see a serious post from you mate.

I was a serial lurker without signing up, and my first post years and years ago was getting sucked in by one of your posts and writing a reply :)

Geez you lot can be harsh just sayin .
Not really
Has been called out that he wants the easy goals out back - this is the afl not metro div 3
He also probably gets outmarked by his direct opponent quite often.
We need a big gorilla key forward up there

harry Himmelberg and Comben would be a more attacking and aggressive functioning forward line than Larkey and Comben..l hope we go after him..

There was also the pivot from about three years ago while Ben Brown was still on the list when we stopped leading at the ball carrier as the game plan was to kick it as deep into the pocket towards the boundary line in order to avoid rebounds straight up the corridor. Larkey's entire career until now has not really allowed him the freedom to lead with confidence straight at the ball carrier.
