if we get hansen then thats another tall backmen to add to the stocks while all this is good, we will have to play some of rance, willy t, mcguane, moore, schultz and polak(if recovers) in the vfl. imo we just dont need him, unless we move mcguane or moore up the ground into the forward line.
Polak (if he recovers) is better value in the forward line. Hansen has great mitts and an awesome tank, which means he might be able to play CHF. Even if he did end up down back he will be a very good CHB, and at 197cm better equipped in the long run to play on Buddy than Moore (189) is. He is very highly rated and already has two years of development in him. If we can get him for pick 8 we should do it.

ratd are you part of the wc recruiting dept. and want to trade off hanson.

pick 8 for hanson?

hows about jon for hanson sounds a fair trade

In further off season news:
Richmond's general manager of football operations, Craig Cameron, yesterday said the Tigers were "probably" going to keep their early picks.

"So that really restricts what we can do," Cameron said. "We'd be keen on a ruckman, but there aren't that many available."

Richmond will enter next week's trade period with its first two selections at No8 and 26 overall, and appear out of the running for former Fremantle ruckman Robbie Warnock, who wants to be traded to Carlton.

At least that is something, unlike previous years where the thought was more along the lines of we're probably going to trade our early picks.

id prefer to give our 2nd round pick and polo or someone like that. and use pick 8 on a midfielder.
although the roos may not accept that. or want to keep him.

Just wondering when the official annoucement of the delistings will be annouced?
In my opinion, Polo, Casserly, Meyer, Oakley-Nicholls and Hyde could be in line for the chopping block.
King will stay.

If we want Warnock we're going to have to come up with something that tops Carltons confirmed offer of pick 24. Suggests that we're not going to bother chasing him and will most likely place Cartledge onto the senior list as an upgraded rookie.

Polo is not on the chopping block.

Hyde has already retired.

Delistings

Tivendale gone

Hyde Gone

Graham looks likely to go..... Carteledge looks to have done enough to earn a promote

cassely looks likely to be delisted and the club hopes to rookie him... but they may chop him all together if they think his Hammies a shot

Raines is rumored to want out.

Trades

Trading Picks for Players seem unlikely unless the club is after a Ruck.

Trading a Player for a pick also seems unlikely because we wont want to part with Quality.

Trading a Player like Raines for an up graded third round pick seems more likely. We simply dont have the Talent to get better picks.

Before Polaks injury we could have had the luxury in maybe trading Shulz or Mcgaune if the price was right.. I hope the club agrees that they should be kept.

We may throw Hughes up hoping for a top 20 pick and we may well get a bite. But what for??? to develop another player that ends up like Hughes.

So at bear Minimum we would have the required 3 picks in the Draft.

Cartledge to replace Graham until we gauge how Putt is going.

and Maybe Raines for a better third rounder..... :thumbsu: swapping for a pick in the 30's would be gold.

Thats about as conservative as we could get.

We may well delist JON... huge waste in my opinion. Especially because he is yet to fully develop.

Meyer looks like he is about ready to take the next step, again would be a waste to watch him along side Rodan tearing it up for Port or Adelaide.

The only Rookie that looks safe is Collard.

So at best we could have 4 picks in the draft if we trade Raines or use just 3 and look to the PSD for another top up or youngster.

Hang on nut, do I understand that you want to trade Raines and pick 42 for a pick in the 30s? Would you like lube with that?

His Value is pretty much shot.... I dont see him in our best 22,,, he is one dimensional, has no awareness and lacks peripheral vision.

Can we get a second rounder for him??? answer NO. Fifth round at best... I'm being realistic. We probably will only use 3 picks anyhow unless the club goes crazy and delists more than I expect so our pick 42 wouldn't be used.

If we only use three picks we're ****ed in the head. Wallace said a couple of weeks ago that Raines was a required player. I wonder how that statement measures up against March's public backing of Wallace.

I only mentioned Raines because he is rumoured to want out.

We still need a small backman, Raines would be an option but I'm not a big fan personally... just my opinion and he may well turn out a very handy player...

After these re-signings today some of which I dont agree with (Graham & King) it looks as though we will keep things fairly slim when it comes to list changes.

GONE Hyde, Tivendale

Then we should try to put Polak on rookie list.

Then it comes down to Pettifer/Polo/Meyer/JON/Casserly so I think Cass and Petts are the 2 most likely to be chopped and then look at trading Polo in a package to get some KP young talent.

Overall I applaud them. Excellent. :thumbsu::thumbsu: :):)

Good to see Gus on the list I assume for a one year extension despite everyone shouting him down. Deserves a year where he has a full pre-season to have a genuine shot at it. If his contract is to past 2009 however I question their logic.
