Ok, my dilemma...

Team:

Goddard, Adcock, Burgoyne, Houlihan, Grimes, Broughton, Cheney (Cornes, Petrenko)
Ablett, Bartel, Hayes, Judd, Rich, Hartlett (Zaharakis, Beams)
Cox, McIntoch (who, cares)
Riewoldt, Deledio, Chapman, Fevola, Franklin, Kosi, Higgins (Skippy, Sidebottom)

12 trades, 130k

Forwards and rucks are complete. I have ample cows on forward bench :) and good ones in the mids. Backs need attention, but it can wait for now. I need to get Cornes into the team now, and muston, well, i think anyways.. I have to decide who im trading out for who?

I am thinking:

Zaha >> Cornes
Beams <<< Muston

Leaving me 10 trades and roughly 110k in the bank...

Or i can do the dbl downgrade of beams, skippy to muston and ballantyne...

or trade chad to fisher...

I have so many options and can't decide. I dont want to sell my cows too long b4 their peak (zaha be is 39, hartlett similar, rich too) i know beams hasnt peaked, but he aint making me money...

Firstly I reckon you trade out Rich cause against the blues he most liekly won't put on another 100+ game!
As for my question...
I have hasleby who has topped out this week and I'm considering 1 of two things:
1. Hasleby 2 Kornes about 15ppg upgrade or
2. Hasleby 2 Swan about 30 ppg upgrade but if Higgins goes down will only be able to trade to someone around his price. Thoughts and Opinions would be apreciated!

I think he will definately play more games this year. Sidebottom is probably likely to be out this week, with Medders and Cloke due back. Beams will be rewarded, one bad game from Wellingham, Leigh Brown, Cox, Toovey, even Dick to a certain extent and Beamsy should be given another opportunity.

I think weil see him within the next 3 games.

1 - It is a joke that Sidebottom will be out - has been playing fine. DALE FRIGGIN THOMAS played another shocker, and will continue to hold hsi spot. MM is weak.
2 - 1 bad game from Brown, Cox, toovey??? HHAHA, they have played 85% bad games, and keep getting games

MM has no clue, and is aas bad as laidley when it comes to DT. Plays kids randomly, then drops randomly and persists with total spuds. Browns 1 good game after 5 bad? FFS

MM = Laidley

Pardon the rant, but MM has screwed me this yr.

1 - Rich doesn't need 100p to go up this week. He has the 116 in his cycle which will boost hs price, his b/e is low and will get it.

Post your team and I can better answer your question. I'd suggest leaving Hase for now, he gets quite decent scores and unlike most, will get better as the season goes on in his return from injury.

IMO, you, me, and everyone else didn't buy Haselby as a cash-cow. If we had've, then he's proven to be a pretty poor one, gaining only 90K. Instead he's there as a mid-priced upgrade. He should be staying in the team all the way to round 19 or 20, contributing with his very solid average (keeper worthy some weeks), and being the last player upgraded in your midfield.

If you still have Rich in your midfield then leave Haselby alone for now. Besides, he's been improving with every game. He may yet be a keeper!

Tell me about it mate, just for the record i have sidebottom starting on the ground so yeah i want him to play, just dont think he will.

Sorry didn't explain well enough, I've got a fairly solid team and I don't consider Haselby a keeper by any stretch of the imagination. I don't see much point in trading him out late because instead of gaining about 200pts you will only gain 60. Now I'm most likely going to downgrade rich (whos on my bench) to muston and after that trade i will have 430k in the bank.

The only upgrades i need to do
grimes(later on)
Coughlan (when bartel bottoms out)
thomas (riewoldt bottoms out)
sidebottom/ Warren (Sj when i've made some $)
Everyone else averages 85 + in the defense and forward line.

Theres my squad if you have any queries! On hasleby I don't believe he will be a keeper since I reckon his second half might just take him off his legs a bit but i trust your judgement.
So theres 3 options:
Don't trade
Get Kornes
Get Swan and lose money to upgrade Higgins to Davis later in the year, if injury hits!

hey guys, just question on price change.

bartell has a BE of 161 and his expected drop is around 15k, what if bartell gets say 140 - 150 points how much will his price change?

same with rich BE of 36 expected rise of 14k

this has alot riding on it as after i trade this week, currently im 7k short on rich to bartell

if everything goes to plan ill be around 10k over and ill be able to make the trade

Have gone Otten -> Swan, still have ~140k in the bank.

May make 1 other trade this week, perhaps Chad out, as I don't trust Suban on my field (decent enough backup as my 9th defender though)

Prob make the decision late today on that I think.

Ok, firstly get Cornes over Thompson. Cornes has been a DT gun for a long time, durable as all buggery. I know clangers don't count for - points in DT, but just stick with the guns who get it, use it well and tackle. Vote 1: Kane Cornes

Secondly, there is no guarantee whatsoever that Chad will come back firing. He can't do ankle rehab properly after the knee op, so my advice to you is trade himl; but only when you NEED to. Remember, he isn't dropping in price while not playing, and while you have bench replacements, use them. Wait until a gun comes along at a great price for Chad, or you desperately need a win in your league. Take a look @ ur upcomining opponents and see who they have and decide if you need the win, or will win regardless, or can carry a low score/0 for a week or two. Trades are gold, and if you dont have Hodge, i'd get getting him in 2 weeks time or so. If you had no replacement for chad, was sitting 3-4 or something, id say trade him. if you're not, just ride it out for a while, trade only when you NEED to, but just becacause. Oh, and don't get Ellis. Never a gun DTer, handballs too much, and has barely had a pre-season. Do you relaly want another injured Hawk? Look to (pending you not having them) Enright, Fisher, Gilbert, Milburn, Hodge ....

Ah, ok, I'll get Kornes over Thompson, I asked because of their prices at the start of the year, they were pretty even IMO.

Also, I really want to trade Chad and like you said I probably should but I only have 8 trades left as well, once I do the Otten -> Kornes trade I'll have 7 meaning if I do both, I'll have 6 left for the rest of the year and from what I hear, it's hard to survive with 6 in the middle of the year. This is my first year in DT and naturally, I made some incredibly stupid descisions like trading Currie out for Meesen because Currie didn't look like he'd play this year. Also, I'm not sure if I can get Hodge, I traded him out for Grimes as soon as Hodge got injured because I needed cash and Hodge was getting crap scores anyway, not to mention I'm still in the eliminator to this day. I'll take your advice on Ellis and probably in general. I'm not sure if I want Mundy, I don't know if it was the injury that got him those rubbish 30 scores so I'll probably wait for a gun to drop in value and in the mean time, play Rance.

I don't want my backline to have TOO many uniques, this is what it looks like at the moment:
Goddard, Cornes, L.Harding, Gilbee, Mackie, Ryder, Grimes (Suban, Rance)

Hah, yeh you'll learn. Esp never to bother trading ruck bench. Waste of time. Get 2 keeps round 1, and if they go down, sideways to another gun.

Yeah you're running low on trades, so i;d hold onto chad for nw. u have a full team and another spare on the bench as well. just wait a week or 2 and see what happens

Get kane and enjoy the 100's :)

140-150 means he'll drop only a few thousand

the expected ris and fall is based on their average

fyi bartel is likely to get a massive score out west and rich a big one too -you might miss out

I think he thought you had Travis.

Shane has been great over the past month by the way, and he scored 120+ last time against the Dogs.
Love shane tuck, I have him every year...since cracking into the best 22 in '05 he hasn't missed one game and has averaged 92.7, 82.8 (played injured), 86 (played as a backup ruckman!), 90.8 (including a MASSIVE 2nd half of the year in which he was up there with bartel with a 110+ average) and is averaging 93.2 this year. Rarely gets below 70, and always finishes the year strongly...based on previous years he will probably average 110 from here on

After much deliberation, I have decided my opponent this week isn't that strong and so I am going to go with option C and bring in two rookies this week. Its the better plan in terms of winning my league...having bartel instead of...say...dal santo come finals time could be the difference.

Hey guys

Like most people I have chad in my backline. I would love to hold on to him and wait a couple of weeks for another gun to drop in price to grab them but I will be coping a zero otherwise and reall need a win this week.
Trying to decide between

Bowden
Enright
mackay

Whats the story with Bowden?
Who is your suggestion?

Cheers guys

I would definitely stick clear of Bowden for a while. Wait until the replacement coach comes in- see if he gets dropped, a role change (for better or worse), etc. I would get Mackie or Enright, personally I have Mackie because he was a fair bit cheaper at the time and scores similarly.

Hey guys,

I wanna get Kane cornes this week but Im worried about his shoulder. Do you think he will be ok for the rest of the year? Any chance of him being mothballed etc?

I need closure! :)

i would say he is fine to get. especially with the break coming up. he might get less of the ball now though without his brother being there to play kick to kick with.

chornes to purgoyne giving me 11 trades left and bottom players of
ziebell, sidebottom, hasebly, broughton, houlihan
think that is a smart trade?
would end up with about 5 trades for injuries after upgrading ziebell, sidebottom and broughton in the next 6 weeks

If both Bartel and Rich get massive scores and make their BEs then nothing will really change in terms of margin.

Rich is MUCH more likely to get his BE than Bartel is, even if Jimmy's playing the Eagles.

If you're only 7k away from it, lmaohelp, you'll be fine next week.

LIke everyone, I've jumped on the Cornes midfield boat. However with not many trades left, i still have Chad and the Front bum to trade with 270k in the bank.
