Re: Geelong finals tickets information

Good tickets coming up so close to the date. Where were these two days ago :(
I don't think every bay is available to be sold for members only.

However I'd be surprised if they weren't there yesterday morning.

However I'd be surprised if they weren't there yesterday morning.

I spent a solid half hour trying for level two seats on Monday morning and was only offered one set, behind the goals.

I'd have killed for N10 so it really does piss me off that such good seats are available days later for those who don't even bother to buy a club membership.

Bays of the best seats shouldn't be held back from club members, especially since club members pay exactly the same as the general public for tickets.

There should be a tangible advantage for club members, not least because it might actually persuade non-members to open their wallets and contribute to their club.

Re: Geelong finals tickets information

The AFL last night revealed that 26,000 tickets were still available to the general public for tonight's match.

Too bloomin expensive...thats why!

Gee, that is a lot left. Would that include AFL members?

If it doesn't then we might not crack 60,000.

After reading your post i looked back at my emails from last year and noticed that the corresponding match in 2009 cost me $63.50 so this year we've seen a 10% rise for qualifying final tickets.

At this rate we'll be looking at $100 a seat for the first week of finals by 2014.

Re: Geelong finals tickets information

There's only the very very top of Level 4 available for AFL members according to the e-mail the AFL membership dept. sent out yesterday, so they are turning up!

It isn't just the prices going up....there are significantly less of the cheaper seats available! So if you bought a ticket at $40 last year...you may have to get a $58 ticket this year.....that is a 45% increase!:eek::mad:

The good seats in the AFL members sold really quickly because a few guys i know didn't get their shit together until Tuesday night and as a result ended up getting towards the front of level four.

Still, for $13 a throw i don't suppose they can complain too much.

Really? Can't say i've noticed as i always get a premium seat towards the wing but it doesn't really surprise me.
Just another way for the AFL to raise prices by stealth.

BTW I don't know what it means for the crowd tonight but there's still some excellent level two seats available, albeit behind the goals in the Ponsford stand.
Mind you, the Pies/Dogs match is the series ticket match yet one can still get outstanding level two seats in the superb Olympic Stand, even this late in the piece.

Re: Geelong finals tickets information

Ended up with premium tickets for the price of standard?

ohwell, i just took the second ones that i found.

Re: Geelong finals tickets information

Behind the goals? Nice work. :thumbsu:

Actually the ability to buy additional tickets worked wonders for me today. As I was buying two (with two memberships), I started using a strategy of using one membership and getting the additional spare and holding onto that, and then doing the same with the other until I got a better offer. Rinse and repeat until I got half way down in M50. I am 6-0 on Level M in finals. :thumbsu:
