Re: Round 4 Trades

McKernan is a gamble, but I can see him holding his spot for a bit. Even when Jacobs comes in I reckon Maric will get dumped before him.

He might be a shot for some more game time now that Davis is injured, but he should definitely hold his spot for a while though.

Traded out BUCHANAN who , if he cant get a game for the lions is in more strife than the early settlers , for K HARDINGHAM.

Are you taking the piss?

Re: Round 4 Trades

Tempted to sideways trade Montagna to Watson.

Helps with the bye situations and Montagna is looking woeful, as with the saints. Whereas Jobe is looking a million bucks.

It's very, very tempting.

Re: Round 4 Trades

They're querying both the trading on a Monday as opposed to Friday and what possessed you to pick Buchanan in the first place.
Q1 - Intolerable efforts that can't go unpunished.
Q2 - Monetary constraints

Re: Round 4 Trades

Trading out half my team if I could, all horrible.

Otten, Delidio, Harris, Conka (bench), Knights just to name a few.

Slid down the rankings from 15,000 od to 19,000 odd.

0-3 in Bigfooty Div 1 too and lost a couple of my other leagues by 19 points.:thumbsdown:

This year just isn't my year so far I reckon. Need to get some premiums in ASAP. Joel Selwood come on down, my midfield needs you.

Re: Round 4 Trades

At the moment my two rucks are Cox and Ryder on my bench I have Derrickx and Keefe I was thinking of trading out Derrickx for Z.Smith from GC, this is in preperation for a Essendon and West Coast bye.

Re: Round 4 Trades

Have a dilemma of where or who to go next !? one of or two of for who...have 50k in the kitty.

backs - decision over Toy, Otten or Hibbard; all my bench players !?

mids - Harris & Atley not happy with, shall i stick with or move on !?

rucks - Jolly, do i persevere with him as i have good cover atm w Z.Smith !?

fwds - Knights & I.Smith to stew over !?

League wise atm i'm sitting pretty w 3-0 start, so i'm getting the job done, but need advice on those above !? being rookies most of them, looks like it's only sideways trades with whom i want out >>> in.

Advice please !?

Q1 - Trading on monday is intolera....... meh go for it, more chance of me climbing the rankings when your fresh new recruit goes down midweek :thumbsu:
Q2 - thats no excuse for getting Buchanon :)

Harris and Knights have been serviceable so far, but the others have been rubbish (just be glad you didn't do what I did and pick Astbury instead of Ottens). They should both pick up once their teams start not sucking :thumbsu:

Re: Round 4 Trades

Connors = Donkey. 30, 70, 40 is diabolical scoring

Replaced by either B.Smith or M.Watson.

Yes thinking Montagna out, with hayes out & the saints on the nose, he might keep underperforming.

Keep Toy, Otten, Hibberd, Harris, Jolly, Knights

Trade Atley & I Smith for the best scoring GC players in their respective positions.

Hey mate i'd at least wait for the teams this week, i thought toy was good in his first game but was used as the sub and then dropped, thought he was one of the more composed players and surprised he was omitted. Not sure about Atley but Harris will rise in price this week possibly 80k or more so you should keep him to see that price rise.

Jolly will have a field day against graham and vickery, even Renouf did, so i'd keep him for at least one more, maybe look at holding him until rd 7 when the pies have the bye.

Knights and Otten will keep getting games, their break evens are 26 and 12 respectively so both should see big price increases next week esp after playing port.

Do you have any mid-pricers that aren't performing that well that can be upgraded? esp at the bulldogs as they have the bye this week?

Here's my dilemma, i have $500k sitting in the bank (mainly because of 2 trades last week to get curnow and heppell), my team is averaging around 2300, my mid-pricers and cheapies are all performing (fyfe, yarran, krakouer, curnow, heppell, lower etc) and some i don't want to trade like Harris, Darling, Richardson, Otten because of price rises. My worst performing midfielder is Boak so i could upgrade to swan but then i wanted to get him after the pies bye in rd 7, should i just do it now? Any ideas?

Re: Round 4 Trades

Seriously considering offloading Reg Grundy. Was poor on the weekend. Was looking at Adcock but has the bye so will probably keep Reg and see how he goes. May just trade Conca > to the impressive Prestia.. what ya's reckon??

Re: Round 4 Trades

will probably bring in z.smith this week
have tippett and macauley on the pine in the rucks (petrie up fwd)
not only will smith be good back up but seems like he is going to be a great cash cow
not sure which one to trade out though

bombers fans any idea when/if hibberd will get a game?

sounds like you're going pretty well mate. my plan is to get as many premium keepers into the side asap so if i was you i would trade Swan in now. the upside seems to be more positive than the downside -

the way i see it the positives are; you get his points for a couple more rounds. have another option for captain. if for some unlucky reason you get to LTI's in rd 7 and need to use 2 trades (unlikely i know) you already have him in your side. most importantly, if you are happy with all your rookies and midpricers then most likely they'll be scoring similar to Boak and having them on the field in rd 7 whilst swan is on the pine should net you similar results either way. I don't know if that makes sense...anyway

i' be keen to hear people's thoughts on the negatives to doing this besides having him on the pine for the rd.

Ha. I was 15k last week and 19k this week. Nice to know I'm keeping pace with you. Pity it's on a downward slide, however.

Are you going to trade out Conca for someone like Libba or Curnow?

I'd trade Conka for a bunch of magic beans at the moment. :)

I traded Atley and Bewick for Curnow and Libba last week mate so I pretty much have all the good rookies except for Darling. Had him up till just before the friday lockout after the Carlton vs Richmond game and swapped him out for Tapscott. Wish I had of taken Darling over Richardson now.

I plan to get Selwood after round 7 so mids will be Swan, Judd, Dal Santo, Selwood, Curnow, Heppell. :thumbsu:

Pfft... It's a long season. StKilda are too good to be down for an extended period, Hayes there or not. They'll likely come back after the bye and maul everyone. Trading a player like Montagna sideways after 3 rounds for bad form is at the top of the Super Coach list of dumb ass moves, only behind trading pre-thurs. Trades are the most important commodity you have.

I have mates saying they'll trade Selwood because he'll drop in value too much??? Makes no sense.

Don't be an emotional player, be a smart one.

When do you make that decision? Considering he's got a bye this weekend and some reasonably hard games after that, do you continue to accept sub-100 scores for a premium and watch his potential trade value drop? Do you look at a proven premium over the years, like Bartel, who's scoring well now and is a straight swap minimising potentially two trades to upgrade to another premium down the track if he doesn't come good. I don't think it's that silly to look at making a decision like this.

My view is with no league matches for three weeks, now's the time to be aggressive if you're going for overall glory, as a lot of people will simply wait until the leagues come back.

I do agree trading pre-Thursday is crazy and trading Selwood because his value may drop is illogical. He's scoring well so his price shouldn't matter. Montagna is a different category in my opinion.

NSWCROW (assuming he's serious) has already had more WTF moments this year than most Supercoach players would have in a decade...definitely keeping us amused though.
