Re: Round 4 Trades

I think with the 4 extra trades this year you can afford 1 or 2 sideway trades. Whether that be swapping a premium that hasn't turned out quite as good as you thought or fixing up rookies.

I'm contemplating pulling the trigger on Broughton. The only problem is I haven't seen much of Freo this season so I'm not sure of the reasons for his lower scores.

Any Freo fans got any info for me?

I wouldn't get rid of Broughton just yet. He would have scored alot better round one but eff % wasn't up to his usual standard. Geelong game was a very even spread across the board so 90 was an Ok score and it was blowing it's ring out in Adelaide last week and Dock's ran the ball alot into the breeze so kicks are down.

He has next two weeks at Subi wouldn't jump off just yet.

I dont have him by the way just looking as possible up-grade target.

Re: Round 4 Trades

NSWCROW (assuming he's serious) has already had more WTF moments this year than most Supercoach players would have in a decade...definitely keeping us amused though.

Re: Round 4 Trades

What are Puopolo's chances of getting a game at Hawthorn, there were a few injuries against the Tigers last week so is it possible that he will be named this week? If not I will look at trading him to Coad or Stanley.

Re: Round 4 Trades

was looking to trade in Shane McKernan before his price rise but after a so-so performance and a fair bit of depth in the adelaide talls i'm not gonna worry about him.

josh toy getting dropped (after what i thought was a decent effort against Carlton as a sub) and cameron richardson are a bit of a concern for me at the moment but i don't think it's worth dropping a trade on as all my other cash cows and rookies are doing what i need at the moment.

the only concern is with the three team byes coming up i may be looking at a blob if i got a short term injury or a late change and i would like to avoid that, but i think saving a trade now is worth more than ensuring an extra 60 points in one week....

Out: Stratton (inj), Osborne (inj)
In: Rioli, Mitchell

Puopolo is way back in the pecking order now that Suckling is playing so well.

Re: Round 4 Trades

McKenna said pre-game against the Dogs that Toy has gone back to the 2nds to get his fitness up and may not be back for a few weeks.
cheers for that.

that's not a complete disaster cause he'll just be waiting there as a mid season cash cow hopefully.

more concern is my forward line as i'll have goodes, darling and tapscott pining it up in round 5. which will bring in prestia, matera and richardson all playing (CR is no garuantee to get a run either).....

might have to pull the trade early on darling or taspcott (i'll still have made 120-140k on them)....

Re: Round 4 Trades

is anyone jumping on Rick Ladson as a defender..... seems to be fit and scoring well and cheap

Re: Round 4 Trades

Was going to trade in Curnow last week thought i would wait a week for Harris - regretting it now.

People think it is too late for Curnow? Or is he still a better choice than Harris. Very confused what to do :(
I would have had them both in the team, that's what I did:confused: I've got curnow on the field, with harris, savage and bewick on the pine, and I'm not regretting it 1 bit lol.

My team is

B: goddard, gibbs, broughton, grimes, heppel, lower, everitt
(duigan, batchelor, stanley)

M: swan, pendles, selwood, mitchell, cotchin, curnow
(savage, harris, bewick)

R: cox, warnock
(smith, dericx)

F: Roo, franklin, goodes, sylvia, fyfe, krakour, knights
(darling, tapscott, matera)

So just wondering if I should consider any trades this week?? Possibly drop everitt?? currently sitting around the 10,000 mark, any advice would be good, cheers.:thumbsu:

The team doesn't look too bad, unless you want to chase some cash by downgrading everitt I probably wouldn't bother trading.

EDIT: Got my DT and SC teams confused, I could be in trouble :(

If you're playing for a good comp ranking - Why would you trade in two hawks who both have the bye in a couple of weeks?

If you're playing for league wins - Why would you trade when your scores mean nothing over the next 3 weeks?

Eyeinthesky was just replying to J Squads question about will Puopolo get a game and was saying who the hawks will change this week, not his own changes (my assumption anyway).

In reply to J Squad, Pup has been box hills bog for the past 2 games and is knocking on the door of the seniors, however he wont be in this week as Mitchell, Rioli will come straight back in and probably Murphy for stratton. They wont make a 4th inclusion it upsets team balance. So, realistically pup wont get a game until at least round 5 and only when there's an injury or drop in form from Ellis, Ladson, Ossie, Suckling or Guerra.

Hope this helps

Re: Round 4 Trades

I'd imagine the vast majority on here would be going for the best overall ranking possible to start with (top 10,000/top 1,000/top 100/overall winner). Once the goal that you have set for yourself here is gone (prob top 1,000 for me), then you go for the league win. It will be especially difficult to do both this year, due to the advantage to coaches who take advantage of the multi team byes in league match-ups. None of the leagues I'm in are ridiculously hard though, so I think I'll be right to get into finals in all of them and take it from there.

My chance of any really high overall score is gawn but I had a plan at the beginning of the year and am keen to see how it pans out. Basically prepping for next year.

Re: Round 4 Trades

Mate if i was you i wouldn't trade this week barring injury or omission. I got rid of Everitt last week for Heppell to cash in on his form and price increase which i don't regret, but with everitt's output last week i'd at least hold on until it drops again. Your team is very similar to mine. I think i remember you mentioning about the possibility of trading Fyfe last week, bet you're glad you didn't now lol, i was thinking the same thing but held onto him

Okay then, thanks for the insight on him guys, appreciate it :thumbsu:. If Toy isn't named this week won't have any bench emergency so will wait till Friday to see what I do with Puopolo. Cheers.

That could make a lot more sense....

Re: Round 4 Trades

Not sure what I'll do this week, with boyd, libba and montagna out I've got swallow, harris, swan, bartel, curnow and worryingly atley on the field (still kicking myself i didnt bring in heppell last week). If atley doesn't get named do I trade him or just accept the donut? I'm sitting at 5101 overall.
