Re: Round 4 Trades

Alright, I wasn't planning on trading this week as I have bench cover for my bye players, and would happily cop the lower score.

However I just saw that P Davis is out for 4 weeks so I will be cutting him loose.

My plan was, next week: Polec ---> Boyd and Everitt --> Goddard. I have about $450,000 in the kitty which I think is just enough.

However I'm open to other ideas for defence this week as I don't trust Everitt to back it up, and I'm not happy to cop another low scorer.

Re: Round 4 Trades

I would trade out Irons as Harris is likely to be a much more consistent scorer with greater job security. Irons or Bewick.

My dilemma involves Bruce and Rioli. I really want to get rid of Bruce and I really want Rioli.

I'm thinking of getting rid of Astbury for B Smith, which would free up enough cash for Jetta to Rioli. (I already have about 80k) However Bruce's price seems like it is going to drop significantly (40k?) this week so I want to get rid of him now. But If I trade him out this week then I lose quite a few points that he would score over Astbury. To add to the confusing situation, I am wondering if Suckling is worth bringing in?

So the options are:

This week:
Astbury to B Smith (So Bruce helps me get a decent score this week)
L. Jetta to Rioli

Next Week
Bruce to Adcock?

OR

This week:
Bruce to B Smith (to avoid Bruce price drop)
L. Jetta to Rioli

Next Week
Astbury to Adcock?

SOOO:
1) What should I do?
2) Should I consider bringing in Suckling( and will he maintain his great scores?
I'd trade out Bruce for Smith and Bring in Rioli, then trade Astbury next week. He won't go down in price a lot (or shouldn't) while the other two look likely to have significant price changes.

Hold onto Everitt for another week. You say you don't want another low score from him, but Goddard has the bye so really you're worse off doing that trade right now. Unless you want someone else. Who do you already have? Maybe downgrade/upgrade Davis instead as like you say, he's injured. At least Everitt should hold his price for another 2 weeks.

You spent big bucks on Bruce at the start of the season(with some sought of faith I'm assuming), yet you're willing to give him up after 3 rounds and blow 2 trades?? It's a long season, player form changes dramatically. Rioli is a great example of that... he'll drop off, matter of time.

If you're playing this way you've probably already spent 2-4 trades as it is... Don't waste more going sideways. There are no league games this week so even if you're thinking about overall score, this move isn't a good one.

Wait till one of your rookies makes some $$$, then you may be able to keep Bruce and upgrade a lesser player to Rioli.

Re: Round 4 Trades

Thinking...

Toy > Hurley and Hibberd > Gaff

or Toy > Enright and keep Hibberd

Can't afford another price increase from Enright, no point keeping the $380,000 in my bank for another 3 rounds either. Gaff will explode when his given more than 2 qtrs and the B/M link with Hibberd is pretty useless atm...

Yeah sorry I wasn't clear, if I was to trade Everitt this week it would be for a different defender, possibly a downgrade. However I already have all the must have defensive rookies so i can't think of anybody else. Maybe R Tarrant?

Everitt scored so highly because he kicked 2 late goals to win the game, I think he was sitting on about 45 at 3/4 time. So I can't see him hitting above 80 again.

So I'm thinking Enright if I trade this week. Otherwise I'll cop a likely <2000.

If you're getting Enright + rookie in your backline for Everitt + Davis it sounds like a good trade. Also while Everitt got 2 late goals to boost his score, he did also get over 100DT so it wasn't that boosted, but I don't think he'll keep it up.

Cheers for the write up mate, I'll keep this in mind and it will defs change my trades.

Re: Round 4 Trades

Hey guys, i am going to trade out Johncock, as we will be bleeding money soon. Who should i go for? Was thinking Brodie Smith in, then wait and see over the next 3 rounds at who is doing best. Thoughts? Cheers..

Re: Round 4 Trades

I didnt get Curnow last week. Was still unsure on him. How much more can he go up? I still dont know whether to get him or is it too late. Im looking at Selwood or J. Riewoldt next week coz of there 0. prices will go down.,

Re: Round 4 Trades

No trades for the next three weeks for me. I am comfortably placed after 2130 last week backing up 2x 2300s. Only LTI trades.

The reasoning behind it is to ride out by getting a mid 2200 average over the next three weeks and allow my rookies to grow in price for a sell down after round 6, when some nice early-season bargains will turn up.

this is helped because i have only one team with 3 players in my fantasy team, that being collingwood, limiting my exposure each week.

the trades will also help out in rd 16 and 19 when lack of trades will really bite. my ruck is well covered with smith covering for cox or ryder when they have byes, so no reason to trade.

have 22 left so hope to keep them through this tough period.

Personally, I'd leave it. I feel as though Grimes will rack up the points as the season goes on.

Question: I'm going for league wins and currently have 23 trades with M.Bailey & T.Derickx. Do you think I should bring in Z.Smith? Or are these blokes going to get a game sometime soon, so therefore, let it ride?

Cheers

Thanks for that mate I reckon you're right.

As for your question, I reckon it depends on who your starting rucks are. If you have two of Sandilands, Cox, Ryder or Ottens I'd leave it. All but Ryder have their byes over the next 3 weeks when they are no SC league matches. If you don't have 2 of the above 4 I'd trade out Bailey now before Smith's price escalates. Performed strongly in the VFL last year and was top 3 in their B&F.

I would, Smith looks good and will make money, and it pays to have reliable ruck backups

Re: Round 4 Trades

I went a bit light on premiums and have 305k in the bank. In my main league as a result Ive lost all 3 games by less then a kick! So i need to make a move to ensure I even make the finals to win the money.

so I have to sacrifice someone who will still make money for a big scorer who also may rise in price. This is my line of thinking atm so any advice will be greatly appreciated and followed up with a thank you post

A Krakouer to J bolton?
or
A Krakouer to Curnow
or
a Krakouer to C Rioli

seem to be settled on losing Krakouer ahead of trading out Buckley who despite missing last week is my only link for DPP with goddard, deledio and heppel all in my back line. To swap him I would have to put him back in def and do my trade in the DEF

Re: Round 4 Trades

and yes im fully aware that there are no league games, dont waste trades etc but if I make a trade its on the assumption that they player im bringing in will rise in value more than the player coming out or close to it. also helps my overall score to bring in bolton for example this week where most will have a fair few premiums sitting on the bench this week.
