Ill be there mate, its going to be you and me. and no one else. Do we bring our own plastic sheeting or does the club supply it

Nah should be a decent crowd, Carlton have a lot of fans in SA, Saturday night and Port coming off a massive winning streak. Geez there's nothing better than listening to a bunch of abnoxious SA based Carlton supporters who couldn't find Lygon Street on a map fire up the old Da Da Da Da.....

Still considering round 9 was a shocker for crowds in general the AFL is still almost double the average of RL which is a lowly 16,800 so far for 2012.

I think we are making a mistake measuring crowds by the numbers attending - some people are fatter than others and take up more space. Therefore I think we should measure fans attending games by the kilo (tonnes for the bigger clubs). It would be easy to do just put scales on the gate. Even better we could charge people entry by the kilo too. It would encourage women and younger people who tend to be lighter than blokes.

Teams with the fatest fans would get the heaviest attendences. Think of the great arguments we could have in threads..... we have more fans, but they are thinner than yours thats why we were down on kilos this week. It was cold so people were wearing more clothes.....

(I just noticed, 76 pages of this! Wow!)

It's noteworthy that in the face of our painfully diabolical on-field situation, current Demons average home attendances this year are actually 1000 higher than last year's average.

That's a powerful statement about our resolve and our commitment as supporters, I'd say.

Your attendances at home have been pretty good mate and you are right to see the bright side....insofar as there is a bright side.

I am a Richmond fan and no one knows more than us about the sheer frustration and sense of pointlessness about supporting a clearly inadequate team. Sometimes success is a flag. Sometimes it is just keeping the show on the road. You're in survival mode now keeping the show on the road.

You will see a fall off in turnouts because you are easybeats who will find the rest of the year a cross between a bore and an embarrassment. Richmond have been there countless times....but we are still alive.

Was a great crowd yesterday. Would have been much better at the G. Again, why do St Kilda play their home game against Melbourne at the MCG and Richmond at Etihad? Carlton and Essendon have to play them at the G as well.

Tonight's attendance is going to be pretty bad. MCG website predicts 35K, but I don't think it will get that.

Yes there would have been a bigger crowd at the G but the packed Dome helped make for a great athmosphere going down the straight so its not all bad.

As for 35K V melbourne that would not actually be bad at all. the poor old dees are in crisis and falling off a cliff. Its not calculated to be edge of the seat stuff.

Really? 35k
If we are lucky

Yeah I actually like Etihad, but a game like that would see many neutrals come as well. Could have pushed 70K.
I agree though. A packed Etihad is great.

35K wouldn't be too bad I guess, but still hoping for at least 38K.

The bad weather excuse is almost, almost as lame as the "we don't like going to Etihad, our supporters hate it" No matter what the weather, no matter where it's played, they are your team you show up. It's funny, the clubs who apparently boycott Etihad, such as richmond and hawfforn, always seem to turn up when their club are going well. They will be coming from everywhere for stk v rich, in the process, putting aside their hatred for the stadium.
Amusing.

Great crowd. My point backed up.
