Below is my mock to our pick. I am really hoping that someone from this group slides to us. I would be rapt to pick up anyone in this group. I have real trouble separating the next group of midfielders. Taylor or Hartung both lack height and IMO are solid 2nd rounders. IMO No/13 is a bit high for Crouch and Dunstan, particularly when it is likely that other quality inside midfielders should be available for our 2nd rounder - Eg, Tsitas, Honeychurch, Cripps.

I hope CFC are considering a forward with our 1st pick as a back up; McCarthy or Marsh.

1. GWS Tom Boyd
2. GWS Josh Kelly
3. Saints James Aish
4. Dogs Mathew Sharenberg
5. Gold Coast Marcus Bontempelli
6. Collingwood Jack Billings
7. Lions Christian Salem
8. Nth Luke McDonald
9. Melb Nathan Freeman
10. Collingwood Kade Kolodjashnij
11. W.Coast Dom Sheed
12. Richmond Ben Lennon
13. Carlton ????

Crouch is the best inside midfielder in this draft, absolute ball magnet and uses it reasonably well too.
Dunstan is one of the top inside mid, has a strong build already, AFL-ready body, plus has very good leadership qualities on all accounts

Yes get that. Just don't rate inside midfielders as high unless they also have the ability to also break the lines. I think we need a point of difference with our 1st pick.

That Dunstan looks ok. Big strong body already and appears to be fairly fit. His highlight package has him pushing back into defense to help out and also sees him close to goal.

Least he runs both ways.

If I am correct, I think he played in the SANFL reserves grand final for Woodville West-Torrens.
Anyone saw that game and knows how he played by any chance?

Looks like he can play from rd 1.

Yes, if we were to pick him up I could certainly see him on the park early in the season.

Historically you don't see as much upside from mature bodies but he could contribute to the team much sooner, plus I think his mature physique which he's obviously worked on and commitment as a mid to run to both ends of the ground at this stage of his career suggest to me he's serious about his game.

I was liking the look of Freeman and Acres for his flexibility but I'd be more than happy with Dunstan too.

I hope we steer clear of the numerous undersized mids. Chances are with at least 2 picks before us, Hine will nab them to add to the collection of Hobbit side players at the Westpac centre.

when I played football (albeit not at the highest level) I noticed that the best players were the undersized lads, they were usually very fast and with a high strength to weight ratio, combined with there natural low centre of gravity they were very difficult to knock around even for guys literally twice there size. Not advocating for the lil guy (sorry HBF) but they can be very very handy.

I just hope we draft some footballers and not "athletes" or "project players" that could come in in 4 years time. Leave those speculative picks for the last round/rookie picks.
Nothing wrong with overlooking a pure talent and leaving the next Koutoufides, Dangerfield, Fyfe or Pendlebury to another club.

Seems Lennon's fallen in esteem of BF phantom drafters. From 6 to 12.

Not sure why he's he fallen in their rankings. can anyone shed some light?

I know the Lennon family. They seem to think he will go between 10-15.
WCE had been talking to him and are keen, maybe they think he will slide to pick 11 which is why they traded pick 6.
He will be a very good player. Barracks for Carlton too, as does his dad.

He also looks like Gohan turning into a super saijan
