HARKER listed Heeney as untouchable as he won't be around at our selection. Doubt the order in which he listed them matters too much.

That's exactly right Jeremias Wasn't mean to be any draft order prediction.

Would be interested in what others feel for players that won't be available pre out #19

Things will obviously change as it gets closer to the draft but let's list who we won't see for the fun of it.

1. Petracca 2. Brayshaw 3. Wright 4. McCartin 5. Weller 6. Moore 7. Heeney 8. Lever 9. Durdin 10. Pickett 11. Laverde

Players that may be likely available thereafter at #19:

12. De Goey 13. Ahern 14. Marchbank 15. Goddard 16. Langford 17. Duggan 18. Ellis 19. Garlett 20. Menadue 21. Blakely 22. Cockatoo

It may well come from someone not listed here but which players wouldn't we want in the above list?

Would love either of Duggan, Ahern, Marchbank, Goddard or Lamb with pick 19. One of them should be available as there are always 1 or 2 surprises in the top 20. Fingers crossed.

I'd be shocked to be sitting here should we pick up Lamb.

The combine really showed him up as a good athlete but not sure he fits our profile.

Yeah that's a fair call!
I'm just bullish on him as I think he could be something special, but he wouldn't be my first preference of those mentioned names. Who would be your ideal pick at 19?

Pick 19 - Hope either Weller or Duggan slip, need a classy mid who can use the ball. Ellis should be available as a back up at 19.

Pick 28 - Best available, really like Cockatoo and Neal-Bullen who will both be around the mark. I suspect Lamb and Langford will be gone in the high teens or low twenties.

What about H Dear at this pick?

at pick 28 though? (the post above mine)

Surely if Hawthorn don't rate him enough to even nominate him via the bidding process then he won't go top 30.

It won't happen but to say we wouldn't or shouldn't be interested because Hawthorn "don't rate the kid" is wrong.

Hawthorn didn't particularly rate Josh Kennedy, either. They don't get everything right.

Sure but if we're targeting Jaksch and Jones this trade period, a forward/ruck with pick 19 or 28 is most unlikely. He'd have to be something fairly special.

picks 61, 65 or 79 then yes certainly.

Chances are slim, but I would be jumping with joy if Weller or Ahern were available to us at pick 19 and we nab one of them.

In terms of the forward/ruck role if McKenzie is still there at #28 it wouldn't be too bad of an option

I would love Mckenzie at 28. That monster power forward is something we have been missing for a while

Wouldn't be surprised to see us nab Jack Cripps, cousin of Pat plays as a 198cm KPF/part-time ruck in WA. Not sure if he's a pressing need but could be a solid contributor and good insurance to help keep Patrick.

I would dutifully encourage all of our residential draft watchers to post their impressions of the first round.

TGR LemmingMaster HBF beowulf

And whatever Splendini/Gilly goes by these days

My impressions are limited only to the handful of champs games I've seen this year. Only had time to get to a couple of TAC games. I have impressions on the players I've seen and what their attributes are but know little on how consistently they produce.

I'm going more with what the guys I know who watch a bit are saying this year. However they seem to be quite varied on opinion this year. Going to make draft day very interesting.

What are the odds of Duggan lasting to our pick? Surely Weller won't. I'm sick and tired of us drafting inside mids, so I hope we draft someone with a bit of x factor. Higher risk but with higher reward. My theory is that you can turn an outside player into an inside one, but you can't turn an inside mid into an outside player.
