If you went by the Phantom Drafters he'd be a lock.
There are 3 there, that have Lamb dropping at #19

Not sure why but Lamb looks very St.Kilda. Reckon they'll get him at #21 or #22

I like Lamb. He has height and explosive speed. He needs development clearly (and also to not get lost in games) which separates him from the top end, but he has that game-breaking capacity which defines the very best.

If he's available at #19 I reckon we'll call him out.

I'm hoping we can take Caleb Daniel at #28. I think he could end up being a solid top end mid.

Yes he got expelled, not sure if it was this year but he did definately get expelled from one of Melbournes prestigious private schools and pretty sure it was only after being there a couple of months. Im pretty sure it was Hailebury

He could definatley be this years Bontempelli, however with his apparent attitude problems he could also be a bust. I think the Jared Brennan comparisons are correct in both football ability and the fact that both can appear like they dont care.

He will have to interview well in my opinion, or a football department will have to back their strong culture to change his attitude.

Im all for him tho as said previously he is rated as a top 10 talent and could be anything.

He could be a Dayle Gartlett situation in that he isn't drafted. Maybe he slides way down the pecking order, and could get picked up with #61/#65

Have heard he can play both ends and I just have a gut feel he will be a gem. I'd happily use pick 19 on him.
Can play at both ends for sure. Could potentially have 3 legit swingmen on our list. And that doesn't include Rowe.

Off what highlights I've seen, would be a handy leading forward pocket in a Jack Gunston type of role who could also push up the ground.
Another 5 1/2 weeks to see who'll drop to us.

I change my mind more than my undies at this time of year. I think we have addressed our KPP stocks and reckon on some x-Factor and a big mid.

Lamb has a bit of Brendon Goddard about him I think and would be a solid pick at 19.
At 28, I implore the club to take Dean Gore from SA if still there. Powerful big mid. Judd replacement. Take a look.
At 60+ take a chance on Saad. Very good small forward who has a ton to prove.
Rookie someone like Dick.

Any interest in Tom Lamb ?

Apparently he is a discipline case and dropped off a lot at the championships. Some rate him highly others don't rate him at all. I hear its an deep draft so hoping 19 and 28 becomes steals but usually top10 are most classier of the bunch and if PD is accurate Paul Ahern at 7 doesn't become the next Selwood or Wines or Jodan Lewis and come back to haunt us lol

High hopes keeping 28 which last year used for Lewis Taylor but feel in recent drafts 7 has been the lucky number

Which is right of course.

2008 draft is interesting in that a couple of classy players were picked up early in Johnson & Lynch at #12 and #13, whilst a couple of more basic types were picked up much later, being #29 Beams and #30 Hannebery.

It's a tough gig being a recruiter :)

Don't agree, KPP stocks yes have got a few but not going to build a team around Jones as FF. Jaksch haven't seen enough to make a judgement but from what I heard from a friend did struggle in the NEAFL comp

Tough gig but get paid good $ so need to be on the ball park. Beams I can see why would slip, think a lot of recruiters from VIC clubs may tend to not view a lot of Division 2 games as they would Division 1 games. I heard massive wraps on Marchbank, Durdin and few other talls even mids which would be available at 7 and feel Blues lack class on the outside area and was stressing out think should Blues take a punt at 7 and get either a gun swingman or gun midfielder and develop that player or go for Jaksch, Whiley and 19.

It does look good on paper what Blues have done but 2 unproven players, even though I am excited about Whiley but still struggled for regular game time in a side that finished bottom 4 and if was still on Giants list would still see him struggling getting game time with guys like Griffen, Ward, Scully, Trelouer, Cognilio, Whitfield, Shiel, Josh Kelly all ahead of him even though still think his a good young player.

If I was Rogers id probs keep 7 and try upgrade 28 with trades, but maybe Pies would of ended up in face considering
A. Garlett went for something stupid like pick 68 and 70
B. No interest in Robinson, Lucas and not sure if Watsons name even mentions in trade period lol
but my strategy would have been use 7 for classy top ended midfielder like Ahern, Weller or Laverde if slips and use upgraded 2nd round to get either McKenzie or Marchbank (unlikely) for Key Position Forward or Swing

YES TOUGH GIG lol

Would like to see Watson play a bit more forward at AFL level to be considered a legit swingman.
And Giles has predominantly been played as a defender at VFL level in the games I have seen.

Giles's background is of a forward.

Apparently only spent his draft year playing defence............swing man it is :)

Why doesn't he fit our objectives?

Sound like a nice replacement for Jeffy and co.

Outside midfielders. KPP players.

You're right though and from what I've seen of him, he can run.
One pick-up in particular running at full speed, had me dropping my jaw.

He's such a sharp player. Wouldn't be shedding tears should we get him at #28..........guaranteed.

Neither.

Character wise he seems like a good fit. Worked hard to overcome his lack of height etc. Seems like a good kid.
