LMAO - I love how the rumours fly during the trade period and people get sucked into them.

The Shaw speculation puzzles me a bit cos SW has always placed great store on how coachable a player is, his attitude, whether he fits our culture et al. There's no doubting Shaw can play but whether he meets some of the other criteria I somehow doubt.I have zero idea of what our approach will be. Heard whispers of the club think they top up and go for it 2014. Then other stories of mini clean out , play youth in 2014 , (I suppose looking toward 2015,2016)
The contracts for Rivers and Hmac would sort of indicate to me the club would still have planed to be in contention. Yet the players mention in draft spec give me the feel we may either go to the draft or be gaining collateral for "big fish" trades. No super fish but I'll be bob smacked if we trade out our R1 and have no pick till late. And us being linked to Shaw is counter to youth and giving the VFL guys their chance.
Brisb and Saints may need player but they will only want players that could play in their side . So Taylor Hunt , Varcoe , West and Brown are logical. Worth is debatable . But If we could end up with an Adams or a ScottS and an extra P in the top 25 Id be happy
If we do pick up Shaw on his full contract , I hope its a player swap and we add a pick to it.
Varcoe for ricky henderson?Straight swap , NO Add a draft pick and then we will have to start thinking. Duncan <> Shiels & R2
If Varcoe was to leave and wanted back to SA , Id hope we could do Varcoe &P32 or P13 to Port. If it was GWS , TV and Adams and a mix of picks. He would suit there needs but Adams is being talked up for way overs TV and our R1 .NO

Rather keep our first pick and the $450k-$500kpa we'd have to pay him personally.
The small defender is a great position for young players. Draft a gun midfielder but play them as small defender until they are ready for the midfield.
like ghs? if i was a forward on him id be running off him allll day long, seeya mate id be saying to him
He wouldn't be close enough to hear you!
At the right price he'd be a handy inclusion, has some height and pace still young enough and improving, the Brown supporters here won't like the idea, but Everitt would be ready to go.How about everitt from the swans? Out of contract and will be pushed out by the buddy deal..

I don't really see where he plays?
Mitch Thorpe anyone? Imagine him turning his career around and living up to his number 6 draft pick knowing we got Selwood as well.

Underrated player with size and pace, with opportunity could be a real asset, how and where we'd use him is another thing.
I think he'd thrive on the change though.
Would give us a bit more flexibility,Mackie could spend more time playing higher up the ground/Taylor more time forward, those two did a power of work down back this year, the help wasn't really there from Rivers(injured and never seemed to get going)Everitt doesn't mind a stint forward either.didn't he kick a crucial goal against us?I don't really see where he plays?
As Cattas was implying Cap space may come into play here for the Swans.Don't see him wanting to move, he's finally made it at Sydney after 7 years of trying to get a regular game.
