If it was a throw away line, it has been 'thrown away' at least thrice now, by different senior staff.

I suspect they're gonna either stick with the kids or bring in A-graders.

On the last fancast of the season, Dean Warren reiterated this policy in relative detail and in no uncertain terms. Something along the lines of "not C graders, not even B graders... they would have to be exceptional talent".

I don't think it's a throwaway line, and I do think we're serious about it, but if we don't land Ryder or Beams and there isn't anyone else in the works, we may yet be tempted to cast the net a little wider given the big short-term hole in the cap. On the other hand, I don't doubt that Leppa has confidence that we have a talented core of kids, so I wouldn't be shocked if we stuck to the stated position either.

If so, that's what I disagree with. Even with free agency, there would be very few A graders on the market each year.

Sounds a bit carried away to me.

Swanny interview at 18:55 onwards.

Clearly doesn't sound like we are pursuing him heavily. Sounds like Schwab met with him (and a number of other players by the sounds of it) out of due diligence. Really sounds to me like Swanny is just trying to talk up a troubled kid he has known for the last 6 years.

Can we just relax and not always assume the worst about our club at every turn.

Nah not really getting carried away as i stated. I've heard it from a few sources we are looking at him, how hard i don't know, rather him not be at our club to be honest. Whether the whispers amount to anything who knows time will tell.

After the Essendon ruling today all i have to say is Ryder see you in Brissie soon. Is Leuy going to stay that is the question.

Eddie: "He'll meet with GWS next week... more than likely going to Brisbane."

Would never have guessed.

Lynchy talking a lot of sense- Ryder may well be the first of many.

Vossy thinks Essendon will go to law on account of the precedent Ryder going might establish.

Morally the Dons haven't a leg to stand on. What right has any club got to pump dodgy whatever into young blokes, with the hope, no doubt, of getting that little edge.

We may well end up with Ryder here, especially seeing we will have blown him away with our state of the art training setup.

It does set a dangerous precedent if Ryder/Connors go that way, big if there. But surely the Bombers couldn't put their members through another round of legal processes. The kitty will be dry after all this
