Would he be close to getting a shield game
I suspect most the leadership team will rotate through the sessions for the young guys. Helping to set the standard early will be good for everyone, especially the newer guys.
Kelvin Smith has done nothing, so he would be on shaky ground, not aware of who is next in line though, you would think they would pick from within the squad first before outside the squad, but who knows with SACA

He's positioned himself as an opener at Prospect. Quite smart - looks like that's where there may be a spot come up first. I like Smith but he may have burnt his chances.
What happens if he made the shield team and then made runs there? Surely he'd continue with cricket.

Interesting that he's started churning out runs now. A career safety net perhaps taken some pressure off.
Perhaps the Redbacks could return the favour and offer D-Mac a contract?
I think Dmac's issue is too much security. His best football was preceding contract renewals. If the AFLPA would allow it, he should be on a week to week contract. He'd have 2 brownlows by now.

With natural progression, Tex, Lynch, Cameron and Hogan should all kick big bags next year, Buddy will also fresh as a daisy when round 1 comes along. Next year will be a big year for key forwards. Even if Betts matches his 2015 form and improves on it, he will probably still be 10 - 20 goals short.
Didn't he lose his SA cricket contract? That is why I think he decided to go back to footy. I could be wrong.
Lost his Vic contract that's why he is over here
Yep,I knew that, but I thought he came over here contracted to both Prospect and the SACA.

Good to see both Hugh Greenwood and Alex Keath there. Keath looked knackered already.
What would a district cricketer get paid?
Oh well, he won't play Shield then unless they break their own rules and pick him.

He might be on a couple hungy per match but the normal one wouldn't be on anything at all.

Good to see both Hugh Greenwood and Alex Keath there. Keath looked knackered already.
He'd probably be able to do a fair portion of the preseason work. I'm guessing district cricketers wouldn't train more than a few hours per week.
At the most it would be 2 net sessions a week. Not long anyway.
