Jake Melksham > Melbourne
Jimmy Toumpas > Hawthorn
Jed Anderson > Essendon

Obviously steak knives included but
Melksham obviously offered a 4 year deal by Melbourne
Toumpas could relish with a fresh start and change of scenery
Bombers add a gun young mid with some pace, class and x factor
Thoughts?

So the Bombers get a young gun, Melbourne get a plodder and Box Hill get Toumpas. That seems fair.

Why would we give up our most talented player under the age of 22 who will be first in line to replace our aging midfield for a potato.

Essendon get a gun. Melbourne get a spud. Hawthorn gets a young spud.

It's Dodoro trading 101.

All I have to add to this summary is Adrian would sit on the deal, making pathetic little noises, right until the deadline.

so any rumours, or just speculation and arguments?

This Jed talk is getting more and more louder by the day, and ME NO LIKEY!
No, it isn't. It's just clueless people on a forum throwing around their wishlists.

KANE CORNES (retired) $300,000

JOHN BUTCHER (to rookie list) at least $200,000

JAY SCHULZ (new deal) $100,000

JARRAD REDDEN (delisted) $300,000

MITCH HARVEY (delisted) $150,000

MASON SHAW (delisted) $150,000

I think some of those numbers appear high and contradicts what the author of the article says about the $1.2mill war chest including the 2016 $300k increase to the salary cap. It's more likely $900k from delistings + $300k 2016 TPP increase.

Possibly meaning:
Cornes (retired) - $300k
Butcher (new low-paying contract/rookie list) - $200k
Schulz (new deal) - $100k
Redden (delist) - $150k
Harvey (delist) - $75k
Shaw (delist) - $125k (1 year extension over the standard 2-year draftee contract)
= $900k

We also have Carlile who'll be moved onto the Veteran's Allowance which removes about $120k. Along with delisting Tom Logan, who wouldn't have been on the standard rookie draftee wage of $55k (CBA 2012-16 Section 4.f (i)), we save another $25k.

All up, an estimated war chest of $1.35mill for 2016.

Noting the incoming players in 2016.
Senior List:
S.Gray (upgrade) - $30k
Dixon (trade) - $500k (backended contract)
Draftee 1 - $67k (2nd rnd pick)
Draftee 2 - $63k (3rd rnd pick)

Rookie List:
Draftee 1 - $57k
Draftee 2 - $57k
Draftee 3 - $57k

= $830k
= $1350k - $830k
= $520k

Leaving an extra $520k for a backended Ryder contract and Hartlett contract extension.
