West coast are wearing their wings away strip, which as I understand most WC fans prefer as it's really their 'original' strip if that makes sense
Well we have played all our other GFs in the royal blue. I hope we get to wear royal blue shorts also as we look quite majestic with them.

If Gunston is fit what if he came in for Hale and Roughy spent more time in the middle as a ruck and as a big bodied mid?
Really need the 2 rucks against NicNat and Sinclair. Will also throw out the team balance we have had to go in without 2 rucks.

But Roughy could play as a mobile midfielder. Really liked Schoey as a key forward in the last few weeks. Rarely beaten in a forward contest. Hoping he stays in and clunks a few early.

Yeah that's the concern. But Hale hasn't really fired much of a shot the last few weeks. Ceglar would be the other option but he didn't play at any level last week. Will likely only play at most 3 quarters today.

There is no room for sentiment at the selection table on Thursday. If Schoey is considered in our best 22 against the Eagles, he will play. If Gunston isn't 100% fit, he will play. Picking him because it would be sad if he got dropped is a sure fired way to lose the game. I love the bloke, but I trust the club will do what's best for the club.

I've no doubt the selectors will be hard nosed about it. Whoever misses out - Gunston, Schoey, Hartung or anyone else - they will be stiff but that's just how it is. Would rather be in that situation than going into a game with unfit players or players that are not quite up to it standard wise.

Eagles FB just said we'll be wearing royal shorts. Not sure if that means you have to wear white or if you can still wear brown shorts?

I don't care about the shorts, as long as we are were the brown and gold stripes that's all that matters to me. Sounds like both teams' supporters are happy with what their teams will be wearing on GF day which is good :thumbsu:

For anyone worried about 26 and sunny....

2008, 2013, 2014

2008 and 2014 were beautiful, sunny days. Cracking weather.

2013 certainly wasn't. Gloomy, cold, intermittent rain earlier in the afternoon and quite overcast afterwards.

I had a poncho on, the first time I've ever worn one to the footy (and yes, I continue to cop shit about it from my mates haha)

It's been briefly mentioned before, but the fact that the Boo!gles have only played once on the MCG is really significant. We've seen the effect of poor kicking in vital games before - Port last year, Fremantle in 2013, us in 2012. The Boo!gles have also had a habit of spraying shots at goal all year as they've kicked scores like 16.24, 16.18 & most tellingly 11.17 against Gold Coast. Yes, they get a lot of shot on goals, but a scatter-gun approach won't work next Saturday.
Don't like the idea of them getting 35-40 shots on goal, though...

The one game i watched Wellingham play this year was against us a couple of weeks ago and his tackling was unbelievably super strong, our boys need to bring that part of the game to the table next week to challenge the eagles mids physically.
Cyril & Poppy won't let you down in that regard I reckon.

Is west coast wearing the away strips?

Think Schoenmakers will have a large impact on this game, on way or the other.

He will no doubt be matched up by McGovern and if McGovern is all over him and can impact other contests we're in trouble.

Personally I expect Schoey to be a battering ram.

If Ceglar plays well today i would roll the dice and bring him in next week would most likely only play 3 quarters next week too.
