Really like what I've seen of KJ. I know his not as developed pysically as we were expecting , but I think that's a good thing. It means the Giants haven't tried to put to much on him to quickly. His only 20 plenty of time to fill out
He reminds me of Hendo when he first arrived. He is actually better then Hendo was with ball in hand.

Much in the way that Laidler and Duigan took non-Carlton people by surprise in 11... I have a feeling Docherty might do the same this year.
If he does, I hope he maintains the form for longer than one season (I'm sure he will, he is going to be a very good player over a long period of time for the Carlton Football Club).

Has anyone seen the new picture of crippa on the club website. Dame the kid has some pipes.
Looks like our strength and development team have been doing there job.
Buckley too - has done some serious gym time over xmas

Menzel wants to move into the midfield - interesting to see how that goes - but medium forward stocks definitely need to be bolstered.

Great write/up, Harks. I actually think Everitt could be a really good stopper for us. The role I imagine him playing is very similar to that of which Dale Thomas played on Dangerfield at AAMI in 2010 (I think). Daisy tagged him at the stoppages and when the Crows were possession. However, when the pies had the ball, he ran off him like an absolute madman - somewhat like a wingman. Towelled Danger that night. Really do think Everitt could play that role quite well.

So could Thomas :p

Think the club should be looking at having 2 top 10 picks in the 2015 draft. If we finish bottom 10 which we will then we need to offer players to acquire another pick in the top 10.

Our forwards and backs are fine - no issues.
It's the mids, we need quite a few more, both inside and out. It's so simple, our backs are under pressure due to more entries from the lack of both quantity and quality mids. Our forward entries will be limited for the exact same reason. Debating the forwards and backs in our current state is pointless. We must contest, win and retain the ball in between the arcs in particular to take the pressure off our backs and give our forwards sufficient entries.

Agree the midfield and rucks need a lot of work, but our forward line is terrible we need a key forward to build around for the next 10 to 12 years and to get this we need to trade for picks in the draft. We probably have the worst key forward stocks in the league along with Brisbane.

We have plenty of options up forward, Cas, Jones, Hendo, Watson, but the best out of those is Henderson and he hasn't been performing at his best for the past 12 months or so. We need to start recruiting (draft, FA, trades) high quality players, not alright players that have potential but never seem to fulfill it.

We need to be bold, and use a high draft pick on a key position player. We've missed out on the likes of Mcarthy and Talia in recent years and just last year we passed on Goddard and Lamb in favor of two smaller mid types.

Unfortunately Brisbane make up for that in the midfield.

At the end of the year Judd and Carrots are gone and all we have is Murphy and Gibbs. Rip.

We need more mids and a decent 2nd ruck.

Wood and Warnock are not viable options if Kreuzer goes down.

Dick, Armfield, Ellard, Carazzo, Judd, Watson all likely to leave at years end.

Tuohy will likely be depth if his current form continues. Unreliable defender who lacks the nous to play in the midfield or up forward. Not a great mix.

If Daisy plays the role of Daisy circa 2010, I'd be a very happy chappy.

And Paul Chapman might file a complaint to authorities over you posing as him. ;)

Gee, I'd hate it if Matty Dick left. It'd be too soon. :(

This is the way we need to go .
I'm hoping SOS will steer us in this direction and the club has the guts to back him in the decisions that need to be made .

I say leave our defense KPP as Rowe and Jamison. Henderson forward with Casboult and then Jones or Watson as the 3rd.
Cas is the CHF who takes a strong mark with Menzel, Touhy, Gibbs, anyone running past so that he can hand off to them to kick.
Get him practicing his handballs so that they are accurate.
For me Henderson does not have the build to be the primary forward target.
He is not big enough to hold off 2 defenders. He is not strong enough to out body the best opposition defender 1 on 1.
He is the Pippen to Jordan, Robin to Batman etc

If by Pippen you mean Scottie Pippen, 10 x NBA All-Defensive honors and 8 x NBA All-Defensive First Team honors, I agree, put Hendo in the backline as per Pippens NBA record and the Hendo of 2013.

I know its only rd 1 but there's no harm in casting an eye to the future ala the 2015 AFL draft ! I reckon we'll end up with pick 5-9 which will allow us to get a shot at one of the best mids in the draft. I know its early but I'd love to get one of Matheison, Tucker, Partington or Parish. Majority of the top ten will be mids so hopefully we can find at least one quality one, Please SOS !

To acquire Treloar in a trade what would we have to give up. Walker and Murphy perhaps?

I don't wanna see the club give away any more first round picks if anything we need to get more first round picks
