Wallace seriously doesn't think before he speaks, he said because bell was a rookie selection that means that hes worth less than someone who was a higher draft pick? That type of thinking is so broken. May as well trade tom bell for Jack watts since jack was a higher selection and bell is just a speculative selection. Your draft position means nothing its how you perform.

So Om do you think it's fair to say to Terry " What ya talking about Wallace?" :D.

Peter Schwab said on trade radio that they had discussions with Bell and his management.
So they have spoken directly to Bell, as Richmond have admitted to doing with Yarran.
This against AFL rules so I dont know why such a rule exists if any club can just ignore it and there are no consequences.
It's against AFL rules to do it during the season.

I am getting sick of trading in players who cannot get games with their current clubs.
That's my query as well. I get the arguments for why he couldn't crack in to the 22 with GWS and Sydney, but what role is he being brought in to do for us? He is listed as a forward, is he potentially the upgrade for Army and Tutt or even Blaine Johnson, can anyone shed some light on this?

I wasn't responding to a post about Yarran, it was about Brisbane talking to Bell. If you have a look in the Yarran thread you'll find I've actually mentioned that what Richmond did was against the rules.
Fair enough. I didnt think that a club could talk to any contracted player unless they came out of contract that year.
I hope the AFL throw the book at Richmond.

Would look at Cam Ellis-Yolman from the crows. On the outer it seems but was making an impact whenever he got a chance

Lets offer WC our 3rd rounder for Priddis - was also a rookie selection

Wallace 'the list manager' seriously has no idea

Tom Rockcliff was a rookie selection.

Worth a third rounder obviously.

Trade radio aint worth listening to until somebody who actually works for a club comes on
The period where it's Tristan Foenander and Cal Twomey is by far the best part to listen to. They are both very knowledgeable.

Just to put things in perspective folks - I'd be very surprised if SOS hadn't been in regular contact with Plowman, Tomlinson and Co (and their managers) throughout the year.

Realistically, the trade period is quite brief when you're expecting players to make decisions on where they will live and how much they will earn over a 2-5 year period. Factor in that players have families that may need to move with them, and all the associated complications (schooling, housing, employment for partners etc.) and it's no surprise that many preliminary discussions are held during the year.

In five minutes Wallace on TWR has managed to say:

PA are one of those good clubs who target a player a long way out, and through diligence and planning get their man, as they did with Ryder ... minutes later he claims PA did not think through the impact on Lobbe of getting Ryder and they should think about moving him on even through he's got a four year contract ... this is his PA list analysis!

Then later, he likes clubs who do not take a scatter gun approach, preferring to target their needs ... and minutes later he likes how Richmond are having a dip at a few players to see what might work out.

This is the funnier radio than any comedian could offer.

Very true BB, how is someone supposed to make a 'life-changing decision' in 24 hours? If my work told me they were offering me a job interstate and I had a few days to think about it, I'd be pretty miffed and unlikely to agree to move unless the offer was MUCH better.

But my understanding is that clubs are allowed to talk to agents during the year. But not the players.

SOS can ring up Tomlinson's manager, table an indicative offer.
Manager can then forward that on to Tomlinson and say 'have a think about it son'
Come the end of the year, Tomlinson has been stewing on it for some time and it's not out of the blue when he gets an offer.

So we're talking to him, but not talking to him...

Can't say I'm totally excited about the prospect of Jed Lamb joining us next season, in fact it has a Jason Tutt Mark II feel about it.

Height : 182 cm
DOB : 19-10-1992
Weight : 83 kg
Debut : 2013
Games
2015 : 2
Career : 22
Goals
2015 : 2
Career : 17

Putting aside his want to join us, what are the outstanding reasons that make him a genuine target for us ??

could bolton go with a very mobile forwardline like at the hawks. no one key target but players with good positioning and goalkicking. The ruckman is a target when under pressure just to make a contest then rioli, bruest and mids come in. could everitt jaksch white kruezer thomas smith menzel & mids be an option?

Liked what I heard from TWR that Kristian Jaksch was training as soon as the season ended. Rumors saying he was lazy but obliviously the interrupted preseason ruined his first year at Carlton. Also his manager saying more GWS players (apart from Lamb) are could be on their way but didn't name

No matter what your credentials are; whether you can get a game at your current club or not; provided you nominate Carlton as your preferred club, we are happy to issue you a contract.
