I read on sportsfan last night that Dangerfield said that the reason for him leaving adelaide was for him to rerurn to his childhood area of Geelong

This is what worries me.
Yeah Essendon will drag this out and expect us to give way overs for him that for sure... Only one thing would be worse than dealing with Essendon would be Collingwood
Essendon will try to weasel every last drop out of this, and I'd be surprised if the deal isn't finalised in the final minutes of trade week.

Im normally against adding kids for the sake of it but we are still quite short for young talent due to the trading out of multiple second round picks in years past
I misread this and thought you were against having kids for the sake of it.

It was at the point where I was thinking that it is a bit weird of you to share your family planning views on BigFooty, when I realised I'm a bit thick and never read stuff properly.

Hey everyone!! I think for once in a long time im actually confident out recruitment team and coaches know what they want and how to get the best out of whoever is in the team... Go Dees for 2016...

Hale retired. 350K + 300K if lake retires.
If Schoenmakers goes to Freo, thats another 200K.
We will be able to create the money. We will also dangle the premierships in front of him as Gibson said convinced him and some others to come.
+ whatever free cap space we have now(which is not all that much I don't think).
Overall that's a possible capspace of 850K cleared up + current cap space.
We definitely can create the space if we wanted to.
Your club has already said you don't have the cap space.

Give them one offer. Don't talk to them again until the end of trade period.

There position is weakened by him nominating us. If as reported its a 4x450k contract then I suggest we can walk him through the PSD
I personally think once they walk out they should become delisted free agentz and there club gets nothing at all

That is a terrible idea.
Why is it a bad idea... Im sick of being controlled by the players... Also making them delisted free agents it opens up the playing field more... They can end up anywhere not just where they want to...

If they are delisted free agents they end up exactly where they want. They choose were they go as they are delisted.

You don't understand what the entitlements of a Delisted Free Agent are. It's the exact opposite of what you're saying.

Just an idea ive had since scully left... It gives the clubs control over the players and if it not working out we trade them out

What if they're really bad an no-one wants them? 5 years is a long time to be stuck.

I wouldn't be against 2 years plus a 1 year option for the club or something.

5 years isn't fair on player or club though I don't think.

The AFL is clearly moving in the direction of a free agency type model though Sock045, so I can't see any rules being brought in that go against that philosophy.
