JOM would definitely cost us pick 6 at a minimum. Going off what Rors said he's not worth the risk IMO.

But surely if everyone knows his knee issues, how could h possibly be worth pick 6?

A HUGE risk to take on a player who may never play again or be a shadow of his former self.

Thats why enquiries only have been made. Not even worth a 3 rd pick.

we are in no position to take this huge risk.

I believe we are six quality players of contending for a flag. 4 midfielders 1 key back and a third tall in defence. I don't think we need to add with our forward line or rucks. We need 1 full back to help out Goddard and another to replace fisher/dempster when they retire. We need a few more quality midfielders to help out Armitage and Steven. We do have a few young mids but they aren't the high end quality that most premierships have had.
I agree with this... and obviously it assumes our current crop reach their potential etc. If some how we land carlisle and a quality mid ie kelly/matheson/ tucker etc this draft.... with FA and another two drafts I would like to think we can get 3 more mids plus a third tall that make us a contender.

I think Richo and co are a differentiator. Simply bucks/cameron dont have the nouse to beat him.

I like collingswoods list and see what their trying to do.... they have a good young list but my unbiased(i would like to think) opinion is that we are in a superior position.

Exactly right - our current strategy doesn't involve taking punts with 1st round draft picks. Play it safe and get elite young talent at the top end. We have shown creativity with trading up or down in the draft where beneficial. I'd rather be taking the punt where there is minimal down side risk such as M Weller on the rookie list or Roberton as a DFA.

The guy is an absolute bonefide gun & there's no question marks over his playing ability at all.

What I find interesting is that Gold Coast appear to be open to trading JOM who one of the greatest young talents in the history of the AFL (which he is & don't try to deny it).

To me, that tells me all I need to know about what his patella tendons are truly like....

Would we trade Billings? Hell no.... That's why I'm skeptical about this JOM stuff

More in terms of potential to be let go and picked up as a late rookie pick.

Best on in his last VFL game and made the 25 initially picked for the game this Sunday suggests that we currently rate him worth something... He's been unfortunate not to get a go this year as we've had so few injuries in the back line.

Farren is a very solid player and could play a role at most clubs. He is a bit unfortunate to be a type of player we have plenty of good kids for. He is AFL best 22 at probably half the clubs in the league. Simpkin was played as a KPB despite being midfield height. He hasn't been able to transition into a predominant midfield type so will probably be delisted. He's a top guy and a great competitor but just lucked out in height.

Depends, trade sounds decent if we include Tom Lee in the equation

And yet 24 and 42 have more points worth than pick 14. So GWS might do it depending on if they have a pick in the 14-20 range (considering either way they're not going to use any of the picks except to cover points cost)

Agree with this.
If he were a car it would be a shiny Porsche but checks show it's a cut and shut job just to scam some schmuk.
That aint us cos as Persevering Saint says:

We're the Saints and we WILL be feared.

I reckon Rocket ****ed up and lowered JOM's trade value by saying that, although some people could have already thought what Eade said, the fact that he said it clearly just brings his value down.

If he didn't say anything, they probably could have gotten more for JOM if they eventually trade him.

These stats make you wonder whether Aish is the right target for us......

LOL @ Cripps being a horrible kick. No wonder he handballs twice as much as he kicks.

Also, goodbye Ray.

Mate, in the U/18 championships I'm pretty sure he had the highest disposal efficiency. He suffered from second year blues this season, the guy is class.

Kicking isn't his problem
You are right about his kicking in his U18 year but he had an average kick rating last year. He's also a horribly outside player. I'm not convinced he's what we need.

Yeah fair play - surprised he's classed as a defender as well - class him as a mid and his kicking is above average.

Would we consider 6 & 25 for Bennell, Aaron Hall and a very late pick to use for rookie upgrades to make the 3 drafted rule?

We could come out with Bennell, Hall, (potentially Rice with a later pick) and two rookie upgrades.

Getting back to trading, we are supposed to be interested in Aaron Hall, Harley Bennell, and Jaeger O'Meara, all from Gold Coast.
What would we have to offer for
(A) Hall and Bennell
(B) Hall and O'Meara
(C) Bennell and O'Meara
(D) All three?

How do you figure that?
I was looking at key defender to be honest so not above average but even so at general defender he's 11.3 off the expected 58.9 so 47.6 which is only 3.8 off what they expect for a midfielder. They actually hit less as a whole so only 3 down from average - not brilliant but not the worst and definitely in blues explanation country.
