If we could get 17 & 26 for Basti and give up some of the picks in the 30s/40s, we'd be huge winners.

Maybe:

North get 17 & 26
Collingwood get Aish and 40
Brisbane get Bastinac and 38

North lose 38, 40 & Bastinac
Collingwood lose 26
Brisbane lose 17 & Aish
So collingwood get aish for 26? They make off like bandits!

The problem is we seem still very reliant on our veterans and that perception needs to change.

I might be alone here but I almost felt we needed to squeeze Firrito out this year, need others to step up.

Being in Norway allows me not to get all emotional........to get caught up with it 24/7 throughout the season.

AFL trades 2015: Brisbane Lions lure Ryan Bastinac but Aaron Black staying at North Melbourne

NORTH Melbourne midfielder Ryan Bastinac is set to join Brisbane in a move that could land the Roos pick No.17 in return.

The Lions have tabled a four-year offer for Bastinac, 24, and are eyeing him as a replacement for wannabe Collingwood midfielder James Aish.

The deal for Bastinac would see Brisbane give North Melbourne No.17, the selection the Lions received from West Coast for Jack Redden.

In return, the Roos would potentially give Brisbane a trio of later picks, including No.34, No.38 and No. 40, boosting the Lions’ points balance to bring in their two academy players.

But the Kangaroos are set to keep Aaron Black, with Fremantle bowing out of the race for the out-of-favour forward.

After tracking him all season, it is believed the Dockers have cooled on Black, despite likely missing out on Greater Western Sydney forward Cameron McCarthy as well.

Aish wants to join Collingwood, but the delay on Adam Treloar’s move to the Magpies has buoyed the Kangaroos’ hopes they could still land Aish before tomorrow’s 2pm trade deadline.

The Kangaroos are believed to have offered Aish upwards of $400,000 a season.

The Lions want the three second and third-round picks from the Kangaroos to boost their points balance in the AFL’s new draft value index.

The value of No. 34 (542) No. 38 (465) and No. 40 (429) outweigh the value of No. 17 (1025), helping secure the Lions the extra points they need to claim academy targets Ben Keays and Eric Hipwood.

The Lions need a points boost after parting with pick No. 21 for Carlton’s Tom Bell this week.

The trade would give North Melbourne a first-round draft call after handing its No. 15 choice to Hawthorn for midfielder-forward Jed Anderson.

If we trade Bastinac out for purely
A pick in the 20s or lower I will be throroughly disappointed, it would mean that we gained cap space over this offseason which should not be happening for a contender in any offseason.

Seems fair, pies won't have a bar of it then.
Though in seriousness, I think Brisbane should get more, give them 40 as well as 38 and Bastinac.
Edit: additionally Collingwood could chuck in the future second rounder from the Freeman deal to Brisbane.

HUN reporting Black staying and Bastinac off to Brisbane.

Light on for info but we would get 17 and lose our 3 x 30-40 picks AND Bastinac.

Something ****ing good better be coming from the pies.

I really don't want aish at north, he is like for like with basti, speed and all.
We need an outside runner...
Only win if we lose basti or black is for trading up picks for an under 10 pick.

Those picks have to much value for 17 and would not be allowed. 38, 40 and 53?

I wouldn't put any weight into a journalist that thinks the trading deadline is tomorrow.
