Stellar draft.

I wanted Ainsworth bad but how can you feel anything but stoked about getting the consensus best player in the draft at Pick 3?

Berry at our second pick was my personal best outcome and Witherden completed the trifecta.

I don't know much about Cedric Cox or Lyons but most of the comments seem positive.

Cox looks like an impressive character.

I'm happy with that. Given that I hadn't heard of Corey Lyons, he's got a decent highlight reel. I know that's only one bit, but a decent kick and good vision.

Cox I hadn't seen much of. He looks like the type who has buckets of natural talent, but might lack application. Impressive kick, and from the tape, he looks like he really takes his time and lowers his eyes rather than just blazing away. He seems to have made big changes when he decided to pursue AFL. Not training for the combine seems odd to me, but if he puts in the effort, looks like he has the talent.

And Clug and Berry. Daaaayum. Awesome haul for us.

All of the above - it's all very well to have 4 good early picks in a draft but you have to make them count and a bit of luck comes into play there.

I thought our chance of getting Berry at 16 were pretty slim and it is impressive to not finish up with a points deficit next year.

With Pick 3 , I suppose we really couldn't lose. But considering that MOST good judges were calling Clugga as the best player in the draft, we have got to be well in front.

Plenty of good judges had Berry going as early as 12 or even 10 so getting him at 16(17) was a huge win for us IMO.

From what I read about Witherden, we wanted him because of his elite kicking skills but were a real chance of missing out because of being sandwiched by Port on either side of our Pick 16(17). Great result for him to still be available especially in light of our first two Picks.

For the first time in years, I feel that not only have we chosen well with all our Picks but that the Footy Gods at last have given us a break

that passage of play at around 2:30... shows speed, awareness with a nice little side step and then lace out pass with his left peg. Highly skilled bloke we have here.

Ainsworth is a very exciting player. He's going to be special. But McClug was a consensus #1 for good reason. Very happy about getting him.

I dont even get the debate. McCluggage is daylight better then Ainsworth

Is it common knowledge that Leon Harris is joining the recruitment team as a consultant next year and then full time from 2018? I must have missed it if it had.

I think I read it on here somewhere a while ago now, in regards to his son next year. They definitely mentioned it on SEN tonight.
