Another who could be a handy pickup at around #10:

Andrew McGrath

Club: Sandringham Dragons/Vic Metro

Position: Midfielder

Size: 178cm, 75kg

DOB: 02/06/1998

Plays like: Jack Macrae

AFL clubs will have no questions when it comes to McGrath’s fitness, as he is already an elite athlete thanks to an outstanding junior athletics career. His biggest achievement was winning the Victorian state 400m hurdle title at the state junior athletic championships in 2014. McGrath then focused his attention on footy in 2015 and showed tremendous temperament playing in the midfield, averaging 23 disposals and five tackles from his final four games for the Dragons. His high disposals efficacy was also a highlight. Subsequently, McGrath was named the club’s best first year player at season’s end.

*Also school and footy captain of Brighton Grammar obviously showing leadership

Been on this guy for a little bit, reminds me of hartung/Touk Miller but a better athlete/kick plus he wins his own ball.... Only 180cm though. Had a game this year 44 touches 19 tackles. So loves the coal face. Really is a beautiful kick.

For me I'd love McCluggage, Gallucci, McGrath/Venebles.

Powell-Pepper keep an eye on, if he cleans up his kicking he's the one player this draft that would be most beneficial to Cripps. Kids a Bull, more so than Brodie.

If the GWS Mk2 trade does come to fruition, I'd have Steele comfortably in the top 2 mids of this years crop anyway, There's no Petracca standout it's just very even without being outstanding. So I don't really think we are massively missing out on anything should that deal go through.

Is there any chance that you three muppets could stick to the topic of the thread ??

There are a multitude of places to talk about any of the existing players but this thread isn't one of them.

I'll make it easier for you, this is from the OP :

I'll make it easier for you.

Play nice or don't play at all!

Unless there are reasons for poor disposal, SOS just won't be interested.

Even though we're still making some mistakes, our back-line showcases why good disposal is so important.
You can build systems where players may get more of the ball but you can't then have them hand it back to the opposition.

You are quite right here Harks, if a player has flaws in their disposal, we won't be drafting them. We are now seeking premium users of the aggot, not butchers.

There is not much in terms of elite kicking in this draft, seems to be the knoc on a lot of the midfielders this year.
Although the last few years the best rated mids haven't had elite kicking skills.
Players like Petracca Degoey Mills Heeney and Hopper are ok kicks, but you wouldn't say they are elite kicks tho.

How about Liam Baker with our final pick? Will probably go around the 30-45 mark but this kid racks up the touches.

all I want is one player with; the pace of Judd, the clearance ability of Cripps, the goal kicking of Fev, the defensive awareness of Weitering, the leadership of Sticks and the marking of Levi
Been there

With all these bullshit academy picks, and us finishing top 4 :) we'll be lucky if our first pick is in the top 20, ffs!
I just try to not think of the academy boys as players, so we still have the (x)th best available kid. Just completely disregard academy players in your thinking and you wont be disappointed.

Would be very happy if Jy Simpkin fell off the radar due to his broken leg and slipped through to our second pick.

Reading about Simpkin, would be happy to snare him as well. One of the few elite ball users in this years draft. He can also find the footy and play forward. Generally hits the scoreboard when he plays forward of centre.

Would like to see the club draft footballers first, not athletes.

Anyway if a top line kpf is available at our first I hope we get him if not then an inside mid to lend Cripps a chop out as many here have already mentioned.

Will Brodie and Joshua Battle are the two I find the most interesting. If we could pick up Josh Battle with our first pick I would be pretty excited. He's everything you want in a key forward except he's "only" 192cm tall.

The rest of the elite end of this draft have issues or flaws that I find concerning for an top line AFL prospect.

Explosive contested ball winning beast mid please. At minimum their skills should be above average and preferably can find the ball often...not asking for much

They don't come around too often. Not sure how explosive Brodie is, but he might be the closest to that type.

I'm always scared of players who miss entire u18 seasons to injury.

But if we had a 12-15 id definitely look to him in that bracket.
