Surprised we haven't heard anything from clarke. Maybe he will wait til the end of trade period to keep himself free to choose should a really good offer come up once teams get more of an idea of who's going where.

I haven't really watched him apart from the finals. What can you tell me about him? Will you guys put up a fight for him or is he more excess? I can't imagine you'd just let a premiership KPP who kept buddy quiet just go to the PSD or anything like that.

Very quick but unlikely to bulk up anymore than what he already has as he has a naturally light build with long arms. He's a good reader of the ball in the air so he's good as that defender running off of his man to help cut off forward 50 entries but his long arms mean that he's pretty good at getting a fist in there for a spoil.
I'd say that he's either a second or a third round pick; you guys don't have a second round pick this year IIRC so at most he'd cost you your Mayne compo pick.

Good in 2015. Ordinary form early in 2016 when he was in the VFL, but stepped up immediately when he came into the team. Elite closing speed/acceleration for a guy of his size and takes intercept marks all the time.

It will be a second rounder.

Free agency period ends before the end of the trade period. We'll know by the end of next week I expect.

Thanks for this. Sounds like the perfect replacement for Johno.

Mayne will probably net us #23, which will go to Hawks for Bradley Hill. Possibly whatever we get for Barlow/Ballas/Suban then.

Our 3rd is pretty high, for a 3rd, I'd be happy with giving up 39. Mayne's compo at 23 (assuming) is needed for Hill

Second rounders are what we don't have though. Player maybe?

Probably yeah, we might try for next years second rounder also. The fact that there is an ill family member involved makes me assume that we'll do the right thing by Hamling and just try to get him to you guys without any real posturing like you'd get if Hamling was an Essendon player.

The ITK called Jong re-signing in the same post half an hour ago. Jay Clarke broke it as an "exclusive story" 15 minutes later.

Give us the Mayne compo, Hawthorn can have the steak knives player. Bonafied Finals KPPs should be more valuable than outside runners.

Word. I'm way more excited about the possibility of Hamling than B.Hill.
How's his disposal, usual KPD quality?

Has this been confirmed by the way or just likely?

Almost zero chance of a 2nd rounder. That will go for Brad Hill, who respectfully is a much better player than Hamling who plays a different position.

GWS could take note... Chapeau to the doggies if they are willing to help one of their players move for personal reasons, even if for slightly unders

problem is we are giving our second to hawks for Hill and our next years second to GWS for McCarthy is most likely, we will need to trade one in but our first is untouchable so that makes it hard

Might get a second from Barlow/Ballantyne. At worst our third is pretty early.

If true re Hamling you guys have lucked out.

Kept Buddy and Kennedy quiet in finals. In our top 5 in the GF. Quick and tall. Good spoiler and decent mark. Tidy skills. Good player.

If you want to Dodoro it you could walk him to the PSD. Ordinary if Freo did that IMO - we are pretty reasonable to deal with so hope that doesn't happen.

Reckon we'd take Freo's 3rd this year. Unders but it is what it is.
