Plus no ruck options, no midfield depth, missing a CHB and a CHF.

So all that list strategy stuff that Dan and Blair have been planning over the last couple years really has been working a treat.
It worries me greatly. No kp depth is the killer. A few players I'd rather not be on the list but no currency to replace them.

Bartel stays. Lids can't fit under their cap. Caddy doesn't get to Richmond. Personal terms were agreed upon from both players but it appears this move has gone down the drain. Deledio seeming likely to stay with Bulldogs interest seemingly rubbished.

We should seriously now look at keeping 6 and off loading more players to trade into the draft with as many decent picks as we can.
Do the Lids thing and then trade in picks.

To be honest, I'd rather we held our ground.

Lids can stay and if Geelong don't think he is worth Caddy, then that should show Lids what Geelong actually think of him. Then offer Lids a 3 year extension (slight gamble) and show him the love.

We should simply tell GC that 6 is off the table. If they want next year's first then they can have it for Prestia a swap of another 2nd round pick (2016 pref). If they say no to that, then push Prestia into the PSD with an asking price of 5 year, 3 million dollars (or whatever we are prepared to pay - we can gamble here as the TPPs will rise) contract and being very vocal about wanting to play at RFC. He can refuse to take calls from any other clubs and he can always cite mental health as an issue if anyone else picks him up and do what he wants for 5 years, picking up his 3 million dollars while he does.... It would a) stuff the club that picked him and what a risk it would be and b) send a message to all clubs who are knobs about this sort of thing year after year.

With Nankervis, it should be 3rd rounder or later otherwise we get a state league ruckman.... Nankervis isn't the only ruck out there... hell we could get Lobbe for a much lower pick than 27 (don't want him, just using it as an example).

Now if this all happens and we end up without Caddy, Nankervis or Prestia... then the trade period has been boring but we have got rid of TV and can go to the draft with 6, 27, 45, 63 and all of our 2017 picks in place while keeping Lids and possibly bringing in Prestia through the PSD. I can live with that. In fact, the more this drags on, it's becoming my preference. Can't wait to see what GC do if they get stuck with Prestia and no trade...
This x 1000. Time to hold our ground. If it means not getting Prestia or Caddy so be it.
We should hold the whip hand with both - Prestia out of contract and nominated us and Deledio in contract with Geelong wanting a flag before they peter out.
The next week defines us as a club.

They've had years to build the depth and they haven't. Now there's holes in the list everywhere and they're desperate. If they trade pick six we have like two picks in the first 60. I mean I could have done that, these campaigners are supposed to be professionals.

The football media/journalists are no better than women's day or New Idea.
No quotes from anyone worth mentioning. Pure speculation. These rubbish lines they use like "industry sources suggest" "sources close to the negotiations". None of them know anything. Reality is they are paid to cover the trade period and have to write something based on hunches

Stability.

Do not give up 6 in this draft. I would prefer we traded next years first.

Bob is right. there are 6-7 A graders in this draft. I would hate to miss out on one.

Can we trade this years 2nd and next years 2nd for a late first rounder to on trade to GC for Prestia? Is there a St Kilda/Hawthorn type deal somewhere?

Must not trade pick 6.
I agree but that may not be possible.
So you're having a go because I used the word great instead of good?

Yes, the club is sitting back with its thumb up its arse watching while other teams make the trades.
What crap. How the hell do you know what we are or are not doing!! Balme missed his weekly radio segment this morning to go to an "out of town meeting" but shit, we are doing nothing!! As I said, what crap
So many negative posters on here, time to check out until 2.00pm next Thursday

i think that is what others have thought…..but i think its a good result..

If prestia is uncontracted…..you threaten to let him walk to draft.

If read correct it is 6/future first which means either one. so not both :)
we can give each other a high five? or maybe you could have hartung and give us 24

Its only one first rounder…..pick 6/ future first means either one not both :)
where Essendon will nab him with pick 1 in the PSD....

Sounds good, however who's got any interest let alone value beyond the top 4?
Just bundle a few up and get some picks in the thirties even. Spring clean.
Tell every club Lids is all theirs for a good pick.

TALKS between Richmond and Geelong have hit a stalemate, with any move to lure midfielder Josh Caddy out of the Cattery now appearing unlikely.

The Cats have insisted a straight swap for Tiger Brett Deledio is unfair, and only a drastic change in talks between the clubs would see Caddy included in any trade.

The developments on Friday leave Deledio, who is understood to have cleared out his locker and told the Tigers he wants to leave, in an awkward position.
Can we push lids to dogs pick 18 and something else please! **** the cats and their bullshit
