I'd love to see us get another pick of 2 inside 20. Unfortunately I think we'd need to put Brown, Cunnington or Tarrant on the market.

Goldstein would have been the obvious one, but given his form over the last 18 months, the market may not be there.

It doesn't make sense to get rid of one of our best players to get a draft pick in which we select an untried callow youth who might be as good as one of our best players ...

One reason we didnt make it all the way with the last rebuild is we didnt have enough elite talent. It appears we have learnt from this experience. We had our elite targets but failed to land them so we move onto value targets (if any) and save our bullets for next year.

The thing is that we won't be able to trade any picks next year due to f/s and super draft.
Only free agents

Exciting 12 months. Firstly either dow stephenson to north plus pick 22.
Next year. Possible no 1- 4 2018 superdraft. add tarryn thomas and father sons.. 3-4 years we will be back bigger and extremly better
...and Josh Kelly the year after that.

Looks ok, but highly doubt Goldy and Preuss will be on the list together by 2020

Can you imagine Kelly, Stephenson, Rankine and Simpkin all running through the middle together?

Cunners and Ahern working the inside.

L-Mac, Higgo, JZ, Atley, TT and Garner on the rotations?

FMD!

Not to mention they will need 3 years to develop and 5 years to realise to draw a line through them. Oh well, he's not as good as Cunnington, back to the drawing board I guess. Why people think this is a good idea is beyond me.

If we are certain to get dow i would keep pick 4. If not get 7,8. It could allow us to get 2 of bonar, higgins, brayshaw, Stephenson. Get another pick in the 20's and get petrucelle (kid could be anything. Pace to burn and pure excitement).
I like Petrucelle too, massive vertical leap. Takes hangers all the time.

Easier to put talent on the market when you have plenty on your list ala Hawthorn with Franklin..we don't have enough . Therefore they need to stay, especially as all of them have at least 4-5 years left (dependant on form)
Plus what happens if the draft pick we gain turns out to be a dud ?..ie give away Tarrant get Watts

I honestly don't think we are too many pieces from the puzzle of having a very good team. If a few of Wood, Simpkin, Ahern, Durdin, Mackay etc come good along with a bit of luck at the draft we could be laughing

Agree. I don't wasn't advocating it, just pointing it out.
