Some some posters are saying no quality mids after pick 5 and others are saying a mid who could go in the teens is a gun.

I think there should be a general consensus that we are all totally clueless and are just guessing.

In the very real likelihood that Rayner, LDU, Dow, Cerra and Brayshaw ( in that order ) are taken I see the below happening.

No Higgins or Murphy for saints, regardless of who gets taken at 6 by the pies.

If pies take naughton I think we take two of coffield, Stephenson, Clark and Fogarty.

If pies take coffield replace coffield with naughton and we end up with two of naughton, Stephenson, Clark and Fogarty.

Melt city awaiting !!

he said the if he there past pick 8, then he could slide to late teens as a lot of clubs picking in that early teen range are scared off. But we attended his medicals last week, and BA still has him pegged to go at 8

i agree if by some reason Naughton doesnt get picked by Freo or the Pies i doubt he gets past our two picks ... that said i reckon Collingwood are set to grab him ...

After watching waaaaaay too many highlight reels I have a super different view of the top 10 as follows. This isn’t how they’ll go just how good I think they’ll end up being on RAW talent followed by character

1 LDU... total package
2 Rainer... hard to separate from LDU
3 Stephenson... reminds me of Bont
4 Coffield...
5 Higgins... data doesn’t lie (#1 CD) very driven unit
6 Bonar (I mean 2 knees and no preseasons and look what he produces straight away. Incredible. Impact driven knee injury = less likelihood of reoccurrence....unless you **** the surgery)
7.8.9 Cerra, Dow, Brayshaw (can’t sepearte these three but super vanilla mids - no real standout skills that make you think wow he could be a weapon)
10. Naughton because KPD’s are the new KPF’s

Have you seen Dow's explosion from the contest & ball use at full tilt? Cerra's elite disposal off both pegs in traffic? Brayshaw's fast & clean hands?

Stephenson looks like he is super exciting, can kick goals on both feet, mark overhead, break the lines, tackle but his field kicking looks woeful. He only averaged a 48% kicking efficiency in the tac cup last year. And from the footage I've seen he misses easy targets under no pressure quite regularly....Can we fix this?

He did say he really wasn’t sure and that he thought we wouldn’t probably go for him but, like us, he has no idea how bad his heart issue is so he’s only guessing.

I kind of get what he's saying though. The three all look good but there isn't that wow factor you get with the top 5 mids in some drafts. Stephenson and Rayner have a bit more razzle-dazzle than those three. All look good players but there is something a bit boring about them as well. When people didn't rate this draft I think it's a bit of that. Last year was probably a bit similar and that turned out a really good draft.
