FFS, why rookie him if he's never even given a chance.
If we get Hartung than I guess it's worth it but really feel for NOK here, he did what he had to do in the VFL and should be on at least a rookie list next year.

If it is Hartung he will give better depth then we have now, if he works out he pushes back someone else, so it's all about improving whats underneath your best 24 players.

Difference is pierce is a ruck. They can take a good 6 years to develop. Where as NOK is a small bodied mid. They can have immediate impact and you can work out pretty quick which ones will make it and the ones that won't

Get Hartung and have Steele teach him to be a man
Ready to play. May only be depth but a safer bet than a fourth round pick IMO.
Low risk - high potential player. Only 22.

Yesterday Terry Wallace reviewed Collingwood and depressingly suggested that all the mids will go early and there is no way that either Freo or Collingwood take calls. He had pretty much Collingwood taking LDU or Stephenson if they are still there. Leaves guys like Bonar and Fogarty if that's the case. I'm a little disappointed if he's right, I have my heart set on Stephenson.
On good users I'm not so worried. We need some play makers to break open games. Stephen and Bonar are messy but play on the front foot and attack. Safe options s far haven't really worked for us. Bont, Lever, Ryan Burton, Oliver etc were all high risk and paid off.

Only way we get hartung is if we move another to the rookie list which sounds unlikely given we said we have finalised the changes
