I asked for two and they gave me three, happy days. The two Bendigo Pioneers boys for me and yes i do live near Bendigo.
You got it spot on!!!The two Bendigo Pioneers boys for me and yes i do live near Bendigo.
This blind faith in sos has me perplexed
Why would it appear somebody hurt mine? LolNo but it would appear someone hurt yours.
slower than graham/mclean in a 3 legged raceMore disappointing than a Hughes/Rogers draft pick

like being given too much change and hightailing out of the store...............I asked for two and they gave me three, happy days.
Not sure where this should go so here will do.
You guys go on about the greatness of SOS the recruiter, but this pick will be telling. Dow or LDU? You couldn't blame him for going LDU over Dow. And I know that's saying something because we wanted Dow!
He kinda went against the grain of convention.
As I said, a telling pick.
It fills me with confidence that even though there was a perceived “slider” in LDU, we stuck to our guns and took the player whom we all believe was our number 1 (or 2 in case of Rayner) target. Didn’t even ask for the 2 minute extension, we got our man and were certain he was the player. The kid knew he was a blue earlier on in the day.
Carlton and North recruiters are in a similar position at the moment; can’t afford their top picks to be busts and need to hit late/rookie picks to speed up their respective rebuilds. Time will tell which of our recruiting teams is successful (if any).
Deep vs shallow is about quality.
Clubs still have list spots to fill

Yes, but you have to consider that if you feel you may not be getting anything better, you may be more likely to sit on what you have.
It's an odd result to me.
I agree totally. Keep in mind however if I am not mistaken clubs have to take a min of 3 picks into draft, which is 18 x 3 = 54.
Then another 20 picks on top isn’t really that much between 18 clubs when rookie upgrades and alike are included. Number taken would always have to be at least in the 70’s roughly I suspect.
Keep in mind I am speaking out of turn and literally know nothing about drafting.
Wait, Dow had a shoulder reconstruction? No need for a poll, pretty obvious who SOS is selecting
Clubs don't have to take three players at the draft. They just have to make at least three list changes and that could be by way of trading.
e.g. Adelaide only picked 2 players in the draft.

Think it was clear cut and without hesitation, wanted Dow and selected him
If i were you, I would be pondering why your club didn't select Cerra
Because LDU.
We need a fast, dynamic mid and LDU easily fills that brief. As does Dow. They went 3 and 4 and will forever be compared.
Well if you wanted fast and dynamic, you should have gone Clark, if it was just dynamic, Cerra would be that player
And the same comparison will made with LDU and Cerra, they went 4 and 5
Cerra has his fans and is a top prospect. And yes of course he will be compared to hide that went before him. And the rumours were that SOS loved him. In the end he chose Dow. Which I guess further highlights my original point that pick 3 will say a lot about SOS as a recruiter.

One swallow doesn't make a summer.
While there will be comparisons between Dow and LDU (both of whom I think will be good), Silvagni's draft and recruiting record already holds up well.
2015: Weitering, McKay, C. Curnow, Cuningham and Silvagni
2016: Petrevski-Seton, Fisher, MacReadie, Polson, Williamson, Kerr
Of the above, all but one have played at senior level, and Kerr is highly likely to debut next season. Importantly, all of them look to be long term players and each shows high standards in disposal, decision making and attitude.
Silvagni's legacy won't be determined about choosing between two players, but by the overall quality that gets on the park, and on that score the signs are looking very good.
