I tipped Brisbane. Their efforts at Etihad were impressive and they will create problems where Port might have to deviate from their game plan. They don't like that.

Every club is a franchise but regardless... at least our club represents a football-mad city and has a loyal, stable supporter base and we have now grown our own club culture and history. GWS are in a state that will never truly give a shit about AFL and will always need to be propped up with some sort of AFL-assistance whether via handouts / draft concessions or academies. (See Sydney - decades on and still no one cares about them there unless they are top 2 with AFL assistance). Heck, even their name is a fake "catch all" name in an all to obvious attempt to cast the net over a huge geographic area.

The difference between GWS, Gold Coast and us is that we spring from the strong traditions, heritage and culture of the SANFL, established 30 April 1877 (originally established as the SA Football Association and name change to 'League' in 1907. If you claim to be established in 1870, you were probably playing with yourself).
We have history. We have tradition. We have culture. We just don't wank on about it.

His act did him. His actions on the field recently incurred monetary penalties. He was dancing close to the line which the umpire noted. No problem with the comments. If he was playing against us this week we'd be cheering.

I agree that intentional hits like these ought to receive harsher penalties, but they don't. The precedent for players getting whacked and being alright to take their kicks has well and truly been set - anything more than a week would be hugely inconsistent with other rulings (which of course you can't rule out, given its the AFL we're talking about).
