Isn't the debate about whether a forward will play around the midfield, kind of a moot point these days.
Below is roughly how a fair part of the game looks at the moment due to the flooding tactic.
Imagine O. Allen or Higgins as one of those dots and decide whether they will get midfield time.
I know it's not center bounce time but still a chance to be a midfielder during play.
So we will definitely see what these forwards can do in the midfield.

A guy I used to work with gave me some ripping advice that I'll share with you. Our needs are midfielders (balanced or predominately inside) with pace. To balance our list I think we need 3-4 of them. I think our wants at 13 have been discussed to death. Clark appears to be the best option that might be available (I am doubtful). If we do end up with brander/naughton/Allen I think that in order to balance the list the next 4 picks should really be mids. The reality is that by pick 21 we are into what appears the second tier of midfield talent. Getting the players we need to compete in the midfield are far slimmer. I'd love to see the club do something like this

After that I think we would be crazy not to grab hamish brayshaw before somebody else does (if somebody else hasn't already) at 67. To me he has massive upside.
This would make me massively excited for the next few years because it would mean we had the ability to compete in the midfield and give ourselves every chance of succeeding while we still can.
The main issues are that if we grab a tall at 13 we arnt picking up a genuine crumber. However, I'd argue that somebody like a spargo or petruccelle could help a tonne playing as a pressure forward. Preferably at 13 I'd take Higgins to balance the current list. Rookie some talls and focus on replacements for jk next year.
