13 Clark/Higgins/Bonar/Allen/Brander
21 Worpel/Bailey
26 Kelly*
32 Miers/Moore
37 Ballard/Starcevich

*Not that I'd personally want to take him at that pick, prefer to pick him at 32 or 37, but it seems likely(?) that we might take him there before someone else picks him.
If we end up with Higgins instead of Clark at 13, I'd definitely take Worpel instead of Bailey at 21. If Clark, Higgins and Bonar are gone, I'd go with the next "best available", possibly Allen or Brander. Listed 5 players at pick 13, since it's a bit difficult to predict who will actually be available there.

Wonder if the injury to Docherty will effect what Carlton will do with pick 30?

I think it might, even pick 10. Blues may go Hunter at 10 or another quality half back, same with pick 30. If Coffield lasted to 10 Blues would pounce for sure....probably would have anyway.

Blues need another kp back, half backs and a ruck.

Injuries like today are another reason why live pick trading is a good idea.

If there's talk of Kelly going in the early 20s, I dare say we should forget about him playing for us. Can't see us pulling the trigger at 21. Guess it all depends on who slides from the teens

I’m not fussed, happy for other teams to reach for players just increases the chance players like balta, O’Brien, Hayes are available at our 21 and 26 type picks.

As Twomey and Abblet said, he offers great dash. Maybe not as a mid yet, but on a wing. I'd be happy.

You've shared a thought I've been having over the last few days wrt Allen potentially becoming a wingman. WC have to move away from these very outside types for wingmen and instead embrace someone who fits the template of Embley.

Better to go with ballard in the 20s for a tall wingman

Look, he is a good player.

Really, he offers an upgrade on Darling as a permanent forward, but it's his up the ground work that's impressive. He carries the ball well, super agile and great hands down low or marking. I'm not opposed, I just prefer Clarck or Higgins.
Bishop and Hedge have both stated that they don't believe that Higgins can make it as a mid due to the lack of pace and strength (he's slower than Allen). If that's the case, do we still take him at 13? Not sure what Caleb Daniel's speed was, but 3.1 is average pace.

He is stupidly talented. Plus he plays quicker than he tests. He may not end up a full time mid, but could easily play a Robbie Gray HFF role (when Gray isn't playing a match purely onball).

This may be controversial, but sometimes I think the higher rated kids don't put the same effort into public testing. They do often meet with clubs in private though. There are also plenty of mids at AFL level who may not have had the best endurance, or tested well for pace but break from stoppages well.

Naughton evidently was from Victoria before his mum transferred in the Navy ...Baz on Seven reckons looking at pick 5 or 6 for Naughton but Naughton wants to go to Collingwood at pick 6. The kid looks real impressive we would take if he dropped to 13 for sure or maybe not !! because I have no idea who West Coast will pick at 13 .

What could he possible offer on the wing? I don’t think people even know what a wingman does.
