Draft him - the less players that care too much about their hair the better

Like this guy and 69 would be about right. Might be a tough call though if Banfield is still there!Draft machine finally has a highlight video up of Dustin, wouldn't mind him coming in for Parto at 69.

That would feel about right GP.
Depending what we did with our first three picks , if they were all genuine mids I could live with him going at 32 but 37 feels about right.
He impressed me when I watched him live.
What's everyone's predictions for the 1 gimp move we're bound to make with one of our picks on draft day?
Personally i think it's that we will reach stupidly and take Ryan with 37.
Read that too.not sure if I'd want him with our first but if theres no great midfield options left be happy to take himI swear I read somewhere that Brander is an Eagles supporter, does anyone know?
3. Pavlich if drafted now, would not be as successful. Secondly at no stage has Allen ever shown he will be anything like the goal kicker that Pav was.
Everything else you said went out the window with the one statement. The guy is one of the greats, played across 15 years of AFL and was one of the most adaptable players ever. Take your hand off it.
And the average height of KPF and KPD has gone up by 4-5cm since he was drafted. He would still likely be a very effective player, however i don't think he would be as effective if drafted now, as back at the turn of the century.
Don't see why the swans would be looking at constable. They are lacking leg speed in the middle, JPK, Parker, Hanners, Henney are all great players but none of them are fast. Would be wanting speed first and foremost surelyI reckon if Swans pass on constable at 14, there is a sneaky chance he slips to us in the second round.
Wishful thinking but imagine a start to the draft of
13) Hunter Clark
21) Constable
26) Tim Kelly
Nope my understanding the debate as to SPP v Venables went down to the wire ...... the day of the draft.
The "debate internally" is a sanitised polite version...... this call caused some angst among the recruiting team, with two very divided camps within the team.
Let me say I think Allen is a good player and will make it. I agree he will be useful in ours or any other team but do we need him? We have Waterman who will do that role with Darling. That is the problem I have - we have depth and saying he is best available is fooling yourself and this will reek of bad list management to add to a strength/depth.If he's good enough, I still think Allen would be suited to a role in the post-Kennedy world.
We'd have a big ruck-forward playing close to goal, and Allen and Darling rotating through the 50 and leading up the wings.
I still want a mid though. I'm still keen for Higgins.

1. No I don't rate the role Lynch plays at the crows.
2. Stringer is a power player, Allen is nothing alike.

The game may be about running and quality rotations however to succeed at the top level you have to have a role in a side, be able to succeed at that role and for that role to drive the team forwards. As i said, i wish the kid the best of luck, but i don't rate him at all and thoroughly hope we don't draft him.
Allen was average before the national carnival, was very good during it and has been average since the national carnival. I don't rate him in the top 5 tall prospects this year and he will almost certainly not be a tall at AFL level yet some people want to spend a first round pick on him. I can't see him being successful.
But it's not like this draft is the only opportunity ever we have to draft a key forward to replace Kennedy. We need mids to fix our toilet midfield now.I don't want him. But I don't think we can rely on waterman and darling for our post-Kennedy world. Ideally we could get an actual big KPF, but Allen would be ok.
Ideally there is a good mid available at 13 and then we can grab 1 or 2 talls in the ND, and 3 talls total out of 9 selections this year.

We won't unless Clark is availableI reckon we would be absolutely crazy to pass up on Higgins if he is available for us. Seems a perfect fit - midfielder who can push forward and pinch goals
Next year i would think about a kennedy replacement. Not much key position talent this year but supposed to be a lot more next year. But it's not like this draft is the only opportunity ever we have to draft a key forward to replace Kennedy. We need mids to fix our toilet midfield now.
I am confident we wont draft Allen if either Clark or Higgins are there. I really reckon Higgins will slide to us. We certainly have Allens position covered imo.Let me say I think Allen is a good player and will make it. I agree he will be useful in ours or any other team but do we need him?
