We have 23 hours to fall in love with Stephenson before our hearts are broken (pardon the pun).
It's like that one time Tim Taranto was linked to us in one phantom about 3 weeks from the draft and I spent 5 minutes looking at videos and decided he was going to be the best player in the draft pool (still think he will come very close to that).

But then realised shortly after that he was never going to slide that far.

Matt Balmer has us taking:
13. Higgins
21. Kelly
26. Stoddart
32. (35). Worpel
37. (40). Balta
67. Ainsworth

Identical to Bishop's phantom draft?
Is Matt Balmer = Bishop or has someone done a bit of amateur imitation?

Stephenson would be an ideal get IF we have cleared him medically which it seems we (and Sydney) have.

Stephenson also mentioned that he would be driven to prove those who didn't pick him wrong if he went outside the top 10.

This reminds me a lot of the 2014 draft when it looked like Laverde would slide to us, only for us to overlook him for Duggan. I can sense a similar reaction coming tomorrow..

Seen a few late phantom drafts linked with us with Stephenson for pick 13. Would be a huge get for a risk and a risk we should take. I would choose

13 Stephenson - gun mid touted top 5 pick and give us an a grade mid.

21 Kelly - if we are lucky enough to get Stephenson would be a great instant mid for us and not worth risking going to Geelong or Roos.

26 Miers - would be the gun small forward we need, kicked 7 in tax grand final, looks like a young Dalhouse in looks and playing style

32 - Worpel - clearance machine who could jump into our first 22 as soon as next year as we lost our best 2 clearance players in priddis and Mitchell.

37 - Starcevich - another big bodied mid who we should take a punt on, needs to work on his game in the wafl for the next year or 2 to build up stamina and ball winning ability but has plenty of potential.

69 - Liam Ryan - Gun wafl small forward who would be an exciting addition to the forward line with Rioli and miers.

Good point. No one saw Labiaday sliding until the night of the draft tho

They are the same person

Pace, leap, goal-kicking, wing/mid, swervability, health X-factor, seems everyone reckons we're nabbing his Ranges m8 in Stoddart. Sign me up!

That group has to be getting very close. Apart from those at pick 69 which is a loooong way into the draft I wouldn't be surprised if our other 5 picks are in that group listed.

Maybe a small forward in Meirs or Moore slips in or if we are seriously lucky L Fogarty somehow gets to 21.

He's Eastern ranges.
Thanks! Anyhoo they love each other and also the Eagles.
Realz though, not a lot of weaknesses other than disposal around the ground and (thus far) work in the contest.

There were very late whispers that his attitude would see him drop but no one believed that he would get to our pick.

Turned out to be the better call in retrospect. Laverde doesn't look like he will make the transition to the midfield like it was assumed he would pre draft.
