Keep Newnes.
In a completely non-melty way, if we're trading one of our top echelon players I think it should be Ross.
I wouldn't we need his type. Speed & X-Factor.

Like when we didn't need Goddard because Siposs was going so well. And Milne wouldn't be a big loss because Milera, Saad and TDL were going to fill any gaps.

Four picks in a draft where they would struggle to fit the top 10 into Frankston's VFL reserves team next year.
Fatlop would be our best player on todays performance.

Fair enough,I just doubt he would improve our team from what I've seen of him,would rather snag a Jack Martin type than him (with scope for improvement) if we can't land that big fish...think we have our X-Factor in Gresh but really hope we land an elite mid.

I reckon Newnes is a quiet achiever type so wouldn't attract much in the way of trade value. Ross looks like he is close to a top mid so gets you a top 10 pick. hat's al I can think of. I reckon in reality we need to keep the good players. Delist the shit ones. I love Minch but he's been here since 2011 and hasn't secured a spot. He's played 23 games. That's a longer career span than some stars had. Wright similar, he's had a good go at it but it's not really likely now.

First off we'd get a ripping deal for him, top end.
Second it would be really backing in other blokes to come good eg Dunstan and hinge on who we have pegged to trade.
Sometimes you've got to take a risk. Is Seb a player we can cover, keeping in mind we'd get an excellent deal? Will he exceed 2017 heights? Has he shown deficiencies that are easy to cure, or, are his deficiencies part of his overall DNA as a player?
Those are some of the questions I'd be asking.
PS Newnes would be pegged as Captain in a year or two. Heart and soul and untouchable. Plus feel like as a player his, his upside is greater than Sebs.

Someone fill me in on the latest Billings talk (if there has been any) today? Flat after the game and in need of some positive news. Or are people still saying he might leave?
Bruce makes Casboult look like Plugger FFS. If a few of these boys learn to kick straight it would help immensely. The team bust their ass winning the ball up the ground and to see Bruce, Billings, Gresh, etc just miss simple shots must be so bloody deflating

Weakest draft in years you don't want extra picks
Fatlop isn't an ironic name 2 years his team has been pushing for a GF and he hasn't turned up he'd take the money get a strained hammy and never play again
We beat a team built for clearances in clearances with an inside mid injuried in the 1st and Steven not right since the lung puncture. We need to hold them all not trade the cream.
Players got nerves early and a man down ran out of legs in the last will learn from it but if we had of had Kelly/Dustin instead of Weller we could have rotated players in the forward line and had another player using it well early.
Goal kicking problems is all mental a pre-season will fix it

I'd argue we can't cover Seb if he was to leave. This game is prime example. Probably his weakest game and we were ****ed.
Newnes though I think we can more easily. He's not even a rebounding defender, he's the link up kick from the back 50 to the wing which most of the time is to a contest.
I rate Dunstan adequately, I think he's a gop so far and if he can maintain his current form he'd be a fringe AA player, I'd like to see him do it consistently before I'd be comfortable trading Ross who is an AA player atm.
I know Newnes is a great clubman and a good lad to have. I'm just flat cause I was thinking, I've never left a game or watched a game where I thought **** me we wouldn't have won without Newnes. I have done that multiple times this year for Seb.
