Ross is our best player. Newnes is a very very good B grader and a high chance to be our next captain. Both turned 24 this year and are just now starting to come into their prime years.

Why on earth would we want to trade either of them?

Not potting anyone personally but gee there's some dumb stuff posted on here after a loss. We want to become a better team, so yeah lets trade out our good players, that's a great idea!

Jesus Christ man as if i wasn't having a bad enough day and you go post that FMD.
and I thought things couldn't get worse then 9 down at golf today

I'm at home with the flu and I'm not as bad as my family who all have it so I'm having to do all the shit around the house for everyone. Couldn't get to the footy at least. The ****ing Saints made it just a little bit worse. I ordered food in, then got a 20 minute work call and it all went cold just to make it a bit more ****ed.

Because we are angry with stuff we have no control over. Trade everyone.

I'd hate to be 'that' guy (not normally me), but I think we are only a couple of a graders short of going a long way in September.

We were horrible today, as we have been for the majority since we slaughtered the Tiges.

But to me we are only a couple of a graders away from clicking and firing. We can still sell the vision to someone like Kelly despite the disappointments of this year. Miss finals or get smashed week one, truth is we've shown signs at times, are still young and will grow over the summer. I'm still bullish.

Not a chance. Even those A graders will go backwards under Richo.

In all seriousness. We have been lacking that all year. And with Steven having a very sub standard year it is further highlighted.
Let's hope we can snare Kelly and another. If not 2 Top 10 draft picks.

Trade both firsts for the top pick and take the bull Rayner
Vs
Keep both picks 4 da draft
A lot might hinge on Rocky's movements. Armo might be an option for Lions if they lose Rocky, if that's on a big contract then a bloody good compo pick will go their way. If they have 2 top 3 picks then they may be more likely to deal.

Pick 1 and 19 for 7, 9 & Armo (plus his contract). Food for thought.

Rocky for freo with nothing but cap wouldn't be too bad. Would allow us to see what we can shake out of the tree with two first rounders for a contracted player.

I do worry that we might be loading up on too many inside mids though

If Armo passes a medical at the Lions then we might as well keep him. I doubt they will pay much for a guy who looks potentially cooked. Rocky is free as a FA and they would be wrapped to get the pick that he would bring them. I reckon the pick 19 will be like a pick 30 in most drafts so almost prefer the two top 10s as good as pick one would be.

We still don't win the ball in tight though. For a team with so many insiders we lose a lot out of the middle and stoppages. Billy feeding Rocky would have resulted in much more first use. Losing Stevens didn't help, he can go inside and outside.

In fairness, I wasn't suggesting trading Ross, I was simply saying IF we were trading a top tier player, he'd be the one I reckon. My strong preference would be keep him. But I'd understand if he's looked at too, for the questions I outlined.

I'm all for trading the Hickey Lonie, perhaps Dunstans etcs of the world, if possible and worthwhile.

We pulled the wool over Jake Carlisles eyes saying we were an up & coming side, hopefully we can do the same with Josh Kelly. Richo doesn't need to coach so long as he's a decent salesman.

Been thinking similar haha. Imagine big Jake knocking on Ameet's door tonight.

"I'm the best player you campaigner, by a ****en mile too -- if Essendon play finals I'm going back on the gear campaigner."

So what you're saying is we are in with a chance for this bloke?
