The thing about GC is they won't want t get rid of potential good 22/23 year olds like we are after. They might be happy to get rid of someone like Hall who is 27 and still struggles for form at times, but they won't be letting contracted Martin/Fiorini types go unless it's an absolute amazing deal for them.

This!! Keep 7 & 8 maybe a long time until we such a strong position.
If we trade out 1xrd1 draft pick with a player and happen to get 2xplayers to suit our needs and 1xFree Agent that suits our needs thats 3xplayers that should almost certainly be in our best 22 next season.
Going to the draft with 2x1st round draft picks should get us 2xvery decent players, but when will they be ready for AFL.
While it will or should set us up for long term,it is not what our admin set out in out Blueprint plans.
It may also have a bearing on Richos coaching career.

That is true but the Suns really need to start again. A large majority of players are unhappy with the coaching merry go round and the culture is apparently as bad as it can get. Add in no success and it's not surprising players are happy to leave.
I think the Suns will listen to offers on almost anyone if very high picks are involved. Will they trade out their very good young players though? Who knows at this stage but I think a lot of clubs are into their players ears.

Oh FFS! Those players didn't move.

How about you wait for trade week?

I'd swear you're bipolar bro.

Chill.

I reserve my right to crack the shits with the management of our football club periodically. Seriously if you were in a relationship that caused you as much pain and distress and stayed you would have some kind of sadomasochistic streak.

I every now and then just need to voice my concerns with their stupid decisions. My concern is that we are shipping guys off to make room for players who are getting in to a smaller and smaller pool with less and less quality.

I will stand corrected when we land some kind of star and are playing finals, but right now I'm very ****ing frustrated.

I reckon you are bi polar too, you lose your shit at times, stir people up and go off on tangents then act like you are the voice of rationality. It's a broad church on BF. Vive la difference.

If we end up going to the draft as it looks we might, we need to trade up to a top 3 pick. Rayner, LDU and Cerra are next level - any of whom would step straight into our team and have the potential to be big within 2-3 years on an afl list.

My hope is rockliff leaves brissy (would be happy if us, but to anyone) on big contract so they get pick 2 compo. Lions might not want to have all their eggs in one basket with high end picks because of the go-home risk, so could see them trading us pick 2 + something later for 7 + 8 (so they get 3 top 10 picks instead of 2).

To lions with the state of their rebuild, pick 1 + 7 + 8 probably more valuable to them than 1 + 2. To us, a star at pick 2 who comes straight in is more useful than two speculative guys at 7 + 8 who may or may not be better than average players.

Can't see GC or Carlton trading their first pick to us either, so think it's brissy or bust.

This " it may also have a bearing on Richo's coaching career ".

Trading in B graders for pick downgrades so we can draft more B graders may help Richo in the short term but will hurt the club in the medium to long term and should be avoided imho.

We have discussed at length our need for A grade talent, if we can't trade it in then we must take first round picks to the draft.

This is a serious question and not men't to disparage.

Can someone explain to me why we would want Jack Martin? Sure he is a decent player who averages about 20 disposals and a goal a game but that's about it.
He doesn't get many clearances or tackles and his meters gained is rather disappointing for a player with such speed, So what does he bring to the table for us that we don't have?
Is it the thought of his potential improvement in the next few years? Because at the moment i would prefer to use our picks in the draft then use one on him.

If we where to go for a Suns player i wouldn't mind Aaron Hall, he knows how to get his own ball and his ability to run and deliver inside 50 i believe is underrated. He may not be as flashy as others but i think he would suit our team needs.

Baker pretty sure it is just Bull shxt, however I feel all this talk about giving them one of our 1st round selections for a couple of there players is out of line, the only person on there list worth a first round pick would be Tom Lynch and if we wanted someone from them I would use Weller , Hickey , Minchington , Wright as trade bait to get who we want.

Gaff would compliment the team so much and instantly make us a better side. If he is gettable, he should be the first priority. He is a known commodity, the perfect age for our needs, experienced and excels in the areas which are our midfield's weakness. I cant understand why people think some inconsistent, unproven but supposedly talent gold coast players would be better for our team at the same price as the consistent, classy and elite outside midfielder Andrew Gaff.

It depends on which player we are willing to use either pick 7 or 8 on .
If its Hall + pick 23ish .....pass
Rather take the chance with the top 10 pick and use free Agency / trades of players / late picks for mature bodied players .
I cant remember the last time we used top 10 pick on a midfielder.

THrow a tonne at Rocky so they get pick 2 (weather he takes our deal or we drive the price up for others which i would prefer)

then 7 & 8 + something (lonie?) for 2 and we get a jet with that.

Sign Trengrove.

Eat Tippet salary assuming we don't get rocky and get and 2nd this year and next for taking his deal off their hands

Future 2nd for someone that fills the outside speed need like Hall (might need soemthing back if it was for him as a 2nd seems a bit rich but i could live with it)

I agree Martin has more upside then Gaff, also think he's another Billings. Classy player. If we are confident Gresh is going to become a midfielder and we play Martin forward then I think it works.

Otherwise we're stuck with another flanker when we need a mid.

None of this trading for money ball types or players we can get cheap who will be fringe best 22...
We don't need to add to our depth because we'll just be stuck with more c-b grade players constantly in and out of the side because we don't know who's best.
We need to add players who will be definite top 10 in our team and push the others down..
