If MLG & Co really are committed to BB they’ll take a ready-made player over a potential future star.

Now that you have to agree with, we have a ton of kids.

Disclaimer: If anyone else turns out to be a gun then I didn’t say this

Not sold on Deluca but will support him and hope he adds value.

Still think we should be looking at who we think will be the best for us long-term rather than as a stop gap.

And I am still keen on Dunkley who looks to have really developed this year.

For selfish reasons I will be disappointed to lose Anderson and/or Fisher if they are selected tonight, both are important players for the Northern Blues.
Agree agree agree and agree some more, Id be more disappointed in losing Fisher as he should have been rookied last year. Wish they would just put Pickett on the LTI and give us the extra pick and take Fisher who deserves it. Dunkley & Fisher happy days. 😀😀😀😀😀

Mid season draft should be used by Carlton for a ready made player.
DeLuca fits the bill
Dunkley is another kid. We have plenty of young midfielders we need mature bodies.
Kennedy shot himself in the foot yesterday. Dunstan tore him a new one
Draft the player we see as most likely to succeed at AFL level. Mature or not. The likelihood of many of these players making much of an impact is pretty low.

That was just taken from the AFL website. I hope we take Dunkley. If we are needing mids in the centre why not just play Curnow in there, he’s wasted as a FP.

Watch Dunkley develop into an A grader

Ah right. Hopefully we take Dunkley. This year is over for us, would rather take the talent.

I think we may be over-rating Dunkley a tad. He's averaging 18.5 disposals as an over-age player in the NAB league...

Massively. I'm sure most saying we should pick him are only doing so based on seeing his name mentioned in the paper, on the AFL website etc How many people even knew who he was a few months ago?

This is a draft, all players get hyped up...their strengths are magnified and you hardly hear about their weaknesses.

Whoever we pick i doubt they'd even get a game with us this season...coming in halfway, they've had no time to adjust to AFL training standards, gel with the players & coaches, learn the gameplan etc

This Deluca guy seems like he'd get a game within a month, from what I've read about his statistics at state level.

Then we should take a ruck.

I know it's tragic, but I watched the WAFL vs SANFL rep game played a few weeks ago, that Jimmae posted.

Deluca won the Simpson Medal for best WA player, he looked okay, nice left foot and good in the stoppages. For mine, I thought clearly the best player was Jai Bolton, but doesn't fit into our age profile. Apparently Deluca also played a really good game for Subiaco in last year's winning grand final.

Shows he does play well in big games, although that doesn't really affect us...for at the moment at least.

For the SANFL, Jordan Foote was pretty impressive....23yo ex Swan player. I liked the cut of his jib.

edit: Troy Menzel looked a class above anyone out there, dangerous forward...pity he just didn't have the attitude for AFL
