Melbourne - destination club???We paid two first round picks for him, he is a generational player that is only going to go better and he is at a team that is on the right side of the premiership clock/ window. We score (remember what it is like to kick more than a 100pts in a game?) freely with him in the side, it will be a loss for him to leave and I for one think we have only seen 60% of his potential. A 1st round pick is not going to cut it, one low and one late 1st round might, but with the number of players we have delisted, you might be asking someone to pack their bags. I'd take the little Brayshaw but I guess he is Ross's pet.
Also think about this, except for a sandgroper, you are hardly a destination club, who really wants to play Lyon style, we can hold you over a barrel re Jessie because he is one of the few mega talents that would consider playing at such a happy club. You are basically a WA version of North.
If you were to argue that we (Melb) owe you for taking that spud (Sylvia) I'd agree, but then I'd remind you about Farmer who was a bitter loss.
Would like that and then look to trade the 22 for Lobb. That way we still take pick 5 to the draft and take the best mid. KPF situation sorted for a long time and we still add to the midsSo this thing with port is something like:
Neale to Brisbane for 4
4 to Port for 9 and 10
Hogan to Freo
9 and 10 to Melbourne
In that scenario Brisbane are making out like Bandits
I’d see 22 coming back to us for that too

Rory lobs in for meeting with. the Eagles - http://m.afl.com.au/news/2018-09-25/lobb-meets-with-eagles
As usual the weak stay weak and the strong get stronger. AFL players only choose teams in Premiership contention

There would have to be some risk, for sure. Let's hope we get it right. Michie ended up playing for Melbourne, just ended up not good enough to stay on their list, I gather. The tigers were able to pick up Trengrove's injury.
I imagine we would do a foot scan before we trade for him, although it makes it tougher that he has a known injury.
I'm not sure if I want him or just don't want to have to play against him in the Derby. He would probably be a handy contested marking forward/ruck for us. Put oppo defences under pressureAm I the only one who hopes the Eagles sign Lobb ??

For the right price Lobb is best 22, at $700 grand he is not an elite player. Just feels like Freo of old and how we use to doAm I the only one who hopes the Eagles sign Lobb ??

deals. Even the Hogan rumor, they have Lever, after May, but give up a forward when thrashed on the scoreboard?
Hopefully Belly who has first hand experience in Freo's quick fixes uses caution.
The article suggested that we would get 22 and use for LobbSo this thing with port is something like:

Yep, one bad game, and the eagles smashed them midfield when all year it was the Demons strength. Demons were looking like us against the Cats.Melbourne didn't lose the game because of forwards. They blew the game with midfield turnovers and got dominated around the ground by the Eagles mids.

Tayl0r can you remind me again of the sort of injury Hogan has in his foot and the likely outcomes... I remember it not being flash, but that was a few months ago.
There was a study done out of Melbourne that had a group of under 30 people, so I wouldn't say it was statistically safe to say definitive, that measured people who had a surgical fix against those who had a conservative fix (which is non weight bearing, think moon boot).
It found that at five years post medical intervention on their stress fracture that all patients reported still having pain, regardless of their treatment and all patients reported functional impairment.
Every. Single. One.
In fact the testing showed 4/5ths of patients had greater than 75% impairment and none had better than 50%.
I'll repeat it just because those stats above are pretty bad, there was only thirty patients in the study so you can't say it's representative of the whole population.
I wouldn't be going near him.
I didn't even quote that the study found over half the patients showed an undiscovered previous fracture on the other foot on radiological scan.
So my conclusions would be that if you've had one you will probably be hindered by it for at least the next five years even if you're playing sport again and that you will be likely to have another on the other foot too.
But none of it can be taken as statistically definitive.
Much like us dreaming that we will get a first rounder this year and next for Neale?
This would be a brilliant outcome for Freo.
Neale for 4 and 22.
Exchange 4 to 9 and 10 with Port. That’s the part that gives us a massive win if Port are open to that part.
We’d then have 5, 9, 10 and 22 to do what we have to do.
Try to give Melbourne 9 and 10 for Hogan. They’ll want 5 and 9. Settle for 5 and 10. Try to get back a nothing pick 43 or get Kent thrown in the pile.
We now have 6, 22, 43 or Kent, 77. Lost Neale gained Hogan.
22 for Lobb.
Use 6 on best available mid.
43 on whoever.
Not quite Randy Marsh time , but definitely getting a semi Lobb on.
So we lose Neale, already have a low inside 50 game, a forward line of Tabs, Lobb, Hogan, Cox, McCarthy. Even puttingThis would be a brilliant outcome for Freo.
