Come on Deathly, get on board the hype train. Lever just basically confirmed it
I’m looking forward to this being featured in the Chronicles of Rosich

When he was asked about the Hogan to Fremantle story, he didn't give the generic: "He's happy here and in good spirits, only spoke to him the other day, I think he'll stay, He likes what we're building ETC ETC" talk that you usually hear. He said that Hogan has given a lot of years to the club and no one should be mad if he decided to go home, also made sure to mention a few times that he's been through a lot these last couple of years.

Was close to the kind of angle I was waiting to hear for this story to have any merit and it here it is from a team mate.

I have gone from 1% to 5% thinking this will happen. :p

I'd say Lever's own experiences, rather than Hogan's, might be reflected a lot in what he had to say, but it was far from the usual closed ranks stuff you'd expect. Very mature and reasonable outlook.

Thats because Lever just left a club, he would say the same about anyone

I feel like we should wait for hogans free agency so he doesn't cost us anything and not trade port for pick 9 and 10
instead pick smith a king brother and medhat making our best 22 going forward

ryan pearce logue ruck: darcy fyfe brayshaw
hill hamling Wilson bench: banfield smith cox medhat
Langdon blakely b hill
cerra taberner mundy
walters king bennell

cerra to half forward to make use of his accurate kicking going inside 50
medhat because he is eerily like nat fyfe

the only thing is that team currently 11 players are under 50 games experiance

Journalist Damian Barrett said the Demons were putting a “compelling” case in front of May.

“They are very, very keen on Steven May,” Barrett told Triple M’s Rush Hour on Wednesday.

“We thought Collingwood almost had him to themselves if he chooses to leave the Gold Coast. (But) Melbourne is making it pretty compelling for him to consider them, as well as Collingwood, should he make that decision.”

May has already met with Melbourne, as well as Essendon, while the Magpies and Hawthorn have also been strongly linked to him.

May choosing Melbourne is one of the large pieces we need.
That and Port agreeing to 9 and 10 for 4.

A Hogan trade is one of the few ways Melbourne could get May in the door.

By all accounts there's a bit of a gap between the top 6 or 7 and the next few, so Freo would have to be reluctant to trade out of that bracket.

I personally see zero other way they can get May.

They have no 1st this year. Have used their last 2 first rounders, so couldn’t even offer next years first which wouldn’t be accepted anyway.

Hogan our is the only way UNLESS another star worth inside a top 10 pick wants out. Even if they used that on May this year they’d have to find another first this year or next as you must use 2 in 4 years.

They’ve hamstrung themselves somewhat.

Depends what we’re identifying as our need.

Surely it has to be a small forward/ mid?

Rankine would be top. Then Ian Hill or Butters.

Hill and Butters are pass top 10 selections.

Sure we could go another midfielder in Smith, but I still really really want Hill.
