I think you're selling us short. I dont think we should be sending 4 and 5 to Melbourne under any circumstances.

The May situation gives us enough power to not get bent

Yup exactly

If May chooses Melbourne, then it’ll help us a lot. It’ll be a fair to maybe slightly overs trade

But we should also do the same for Neale. Fair but get slightly overs as he’s contracted

Melb are after 5 and 6. They said our getting 5 for Neale would mean we have the picks to get it done. I deadset want something back if it gets to that point.

2004, 2005 we would lose, 2017 probably but too early.

2014 we lose, other than that you would take Hogan.

The issue is that the top 8 picks are very good, and we are a long way from a flag.

That's fine, but I want something back later. We have a lot of holes to fill, not just one.

Yes, that forces (encourages) them to be reasonable.

People using the Judd trade as an example.

Josh Kennedy may have been a pick 4 and may be the player he is now but he’d kicked 11 goals in 22 games for Carlton. He’d struggled at AFL level and was worth far less than pick 4.

I seem to remember him almost being seen as steak knives at the time. A lot of people seemed to like to say that Carlton didn’t want him. I honestly cannot say I saw enough of him at Carlton to make my own judgement.

It’s hard to say what Kennedy was worth but it was probably not even a top ten pick tbh. Josh Schache played 25 games for 27 goals in two years and went pick 2 two years earlier yet was traded for a couple of second rounders.

hoges For 4,5 walk away
Hoges for 5 and 2019 1st highest I’d go
Hoges and 2nd rd for 5, future 1st perfect gives us 4,22,33
The top 6/7 in this year draft sound just as valuable as hogan
And we will also being giving up a club champion
Hogan played 20 of 22 games but still didn’t make the top 10 best players at Melbourne and comes with moonboot.

I’m now happy with Neale choice whatever it be.

The value right now is all speculative and I wouldn't be surprised if the 5 & 6 claim is just posturing. If that's their opening price then we will no doubt counter-offer while remaining reasonable. Eagles won't have currency for May and I'm certain they will do what's best for Hogan and get him home. I can't see them acting like GWS or Adelaide. They would be wanting to snatch up the counter of say 5 & 22/ 2018 2nd and fast in fear that Collingwood will jump them. I see May being a reason why they can't play hardball for long.

I'll be staggered if we hang onto a pick 5 or 6 for ourselves, and get Hogan. Can't see it happening.

Was 3rd in their BnF up until round 16. Then fell away.

Really don’t wan’t to trade out of the first round.
lachie for 4 and 22 as a minimum.
If we could leverage 5 and next years first for hogan and a second or third
We could lose Lachie, gain Hogan, and another second or third plus 22.

Then take Rankine or Smith
I’d be pretty bloody happy with that to be honest

if Neale goes with lynch compensation we would have pick 5 and 6 plus a second rounder pick 22

offer pick 5,22,77 to st kilda for pick 4,57,75 we need a tall forward given there are three in this draft and carlton likely to pick sam walsh one will slip to four if gold coast pick king brothers it might be luckosius. If we must offer some future picks
st Kilda then pick smith at 5
we then get to extort picks from Adelaide and say to the we will trade this pick to port if you don't give us pick 8 plus pick 14.
however western bulldogs are interested in rozee therefore do a three way deal in which
we end up with western bulldogs pick plus second rounder Adelaide with ours and WB with 8 plus 14 which they will use the 14 to take west
so its a win for everyone except Adelaide WHO WE EXTORTED

however we want ian hill offer first round next year for geelongs pick at 11. Geelong will think we wont make 8 and therefore they think they will get a top ten draft pick if we must offer a sweetner

in summary pick 4, 7, 11, 57, 75, in which we pick lukosius, rozee, hill, medhat, carter
out is future first, Neale, 5, 77

leaving our best 22 at
FB - cox hamling ryan
HB - sHill pearce Wilson
C - Langdon blakely bHill
HF rozee lukosius mundy
FF walters Dixon tabs

ruck darcy fyfe brayshaw
bench cerra bennell iHill logue
cox to his natural intercept marking backman
logue to spend more time midfield same as blakely

Neale for 4 and 22.
Hogan for 4 and 5 and we get back pick 33.

Lose: Neale and pick 4.
Gain: Hogan, pick 22 (Jordan Clarke) and pick 33 (Carter)

Get the best young key forward in the game for 10 years. Losing Neale is massive but Blakely moves to the middle and Carter and Clarke fight for the running half back role.

Bring on 2019.
School goes back on Monday, yeah?

Would this make 4 and 5 more palatable to us? I can't remember a lot about his footy,

Dom Tyson: "Discussions with Dom are about opportunities to play in his prime position as an inside mid. We've gone heavily in the draft in that area and it's probably our strongest area and it's forced him to play in some different roles. He's looking for opportunities to play that role, we're supportive of him to do that. We're comfortable if he wants to stay … but also if an opportunity comes up we'll look at that as well."

The May situation gives us enough power to not get bent
Spot on. Dees want May as much as we want hogan. Whats more there are other Vic clubs waiting to pounce. They can posture all they want. If you believe Trade radio at the start of the week, they believe Neale and May are worth more than Hogan to their respective clubs. Which I myself cant comprehend.

Not really.
Would prefer 5 and next years first for Hogan and a 2018 second. Even a third.
We then keep 4 and 22, get Hogan and a third.

Way too much panic on here. What if the Eagles get him and then what if we give up 4&5. Also Hogan’s foot is about to drop off.

For a start it’s 5&6 and we’re in the midst of a three-way with Port and Brisbane, so probably will never have pick 5.

With Port it could be
5 & 24 for 10 (North Melbourne) & 11;
5 for 11 and 15 (Hawthorn)

Trade 6 and 11 (keep 10)
Trade 6 and 15 (keep 11 and 24)

Strong mail that GCS will add the King twins at 2&3 and if not then Max will be definitely gone at 4. Rankin will very likely available at Pick 5 so Port will be very keen on the pick.

I think the Port stuff might just be a bit of hot air. As it's purely picks why wouldn't Port just wait until draft night where they can get a better idea of where Rankine is likely to fall.

Means that all we're going to be left with is some very high first rounders that Melbourne will want every piece of of. We'd probably get their 2nd back but would still hurt quite a bit.
