Ideally,

Out: Neale
In: 4 and 22

Out: 4 and 2019 1st
In: Hogan and 3rd round pick.

Go to draft with 5, 22 and 3rd round pick.

Eagles are looking for a ruck, Lobb wants to be a forward/ruck which is what we need, therefore would be a better fit for Freo and Lobb.
Eagles can gagf.

Lycett to the Power. Lobb to the Eagles.

Lobb gets to pick his destination.
With GWS approval.

How are WC going to get Kelly and Lobb?

eagles won’t have the $ or trade currency

Is lobb a free agent next year? I can't see them trading him if they manage to get what they want for shiel and setterfield......or unless us or the eagles offer well overs

I would have thought they would have the currency pretty easily.

GC 2nd. Gaff pick, Lycett pick, WCE 2nd. So ~21, 22, 24, 40 when the dust settles. Should be able to parlay those into Lobb and Kelly pretty easily. Money wise Gaff is the single biggest cost so you would think they'd be fine there.

Hogan is will be 24yrs old next season. We will have skipped the development years and obtained a very good KPF that should have 7-9 yrs left in the system barring disaster.

Easily worth two 1st's. Pick 5 and our 2019 1st rounder. The Neale trade can get us back in the draft with some nice picks.

This is about right, I'd hope for another pick back, late 2nd or 3rd.

We gave up picks 2 and 13 for Hogan in 2012
Just to make this factual because I've heard this argument a lot. You gave up #3 and #14 for Hogan's pick, pick #20 and Dom Barry. So you spent 2 1st rounders but got a 1st rounder back.

I'm expecting us to pay fair value but #5 and #6 is overs in such a strong a draft with ~6 standout key prospects at the top of the draft. I think something more fair is either a pick inside 6 and a late 1st or two mid 1sts (eg 9 and 10). Which would you prefer if given the choice?

yep, its a strong draft, so I would give them 1 first rounder, and then something else.
2 first rounders is overs imo

About the most sensible thing I’ve read today.

New member but I just went on the Demons part of the forum to see their opinions on Hogan trade.

Picks 4, 5 and Tom Langdon is more than fair according to our counterparts.
New poster, claims to support Freo, doesn’t realise that Tom Langdon doesn’t play for the team he ‘supports’...

Seems legit.

One poster and your trolling was obvious & unamusing.
