If Dayne Beams goes and we don't get Lachie Neale we need to bring in a/a couple of mature aged mids, who's out there that we could make a play for at this late stage?

- Tom Liberatore, Jarryd Lyons, Jesse Lonergan, Tom Scully, Marlion Pickett, Michael Gibbons, Mitch Grigg, Mitch Maguire ????

I'd be very surprised that we trade out Beams and not get Neale.
I would say, that if Beams is traded, it would be after the Neale deal gets done.

Were we ever? I thought that was more just a case of a big footy poster says "What about Crouch?"
Been away a couple of days but may have been covered ..... AS AFL PDE N TRADE ARE SAYING ADELAIDE ARE OFFERING LIONS CROUCH OR TALIA OR JENKINS OR LAIRD FOR PICK 5. Apologies if already covered

We'll take Crouch and pick 8 for 5 thank you.

Jenkins, hell no. Laird, yes please. Talia, yes please.

Langdon on 6pr this morning was alluding to there being a few issues in regards to Hogan- not medical but off field. Reckons he wouldn’t touch him.
Didn’t get to listen to the end of it though.

We have come way to far with Neale now to leave him hanging now would be a terrible look and I don’t see Fagan or
Noble doing it we should be and are fully committed to Neale. Would we look at our pick 5 and first rounder next year for someone like laird or crouch for there picks 8 and 13 ? We pass on 8 and 13 to Fremantle which they give for hogan . We gain lachie Neale and 1 of (Brad crouch or laird). Lose pick 5 and first rounder next year . We could then maybe consider Dayne beams going for Collingwoods 2019 first rounder ?

Why is Tom Langdon weighing in on the Jesse Hogan kerfuffle?

lets go hard for hogan. perfect fit for our team and we will be bordering on top 8 if he comes here next season. We got the cash, we got the picks, we have the list.

Nothing wrong with asking the question of his management. We definitely do need a big unit in the fwd line that's for sure to free up Hipwood.

I hope the club has made enquiries about Jonno Patton as to what the Giants price tag is. If it's a big fire sale at GWS trying to shed salary cap, he might be cheap.

If Collingwood do get Beams we should include as part of the trade that they pay us $200-300k pa over the next two years to make up for the front loading of his contract. They can just take it off his contact. If he is that keen to only play for Collingwood then he should be happy to do it for $300k per year. We can then use this extra $400-$600k to go towards resign ing Bez to a lucrative 5 year contract.

To be fair Lobb is a gun and is exactly the type of player they need; someone who can take a big grab inside 50. One of the best aerial threats in the competition and still has development left in him. Reckon he will spend a lot of time inside 50 for Freo.

Sean Darcy to take over from Sandilands with Lobbe ruck/forward. Would love that combo at the Lions.

You can’t trade cap space like that. The only way for them to do that would be to send us a contracted player we like and pay a portion of his contract.

Out of curiosity, are you guys likely to ask for Josh Thomas and a pick if the Dayne Beams to Collingwood trade does happen? Although you'd obviously prefer to keep Beams, I think getting a talented Brisbane boy in return, as well as a pick, would be a decent outcome considering the circumstances.

Dodongo thinks we will ask for two first rounders and we throw a 3rd rounder there way to help them with bids this year. If they back themselves then their first rounder will be a mid to late teens pick

He is a lawyer, he knows his way around a contract and sat on Freo's board so would know his way around a budget sheet, just might not have street smarts.
Means nothing. I have done many big deals and some of the most astute (and richest) people around didnt finish year 12.

Conversely lawyers seem to think they know everything and almost invariably f@#$ deals, because there is no win-win.
