Average wage these days for a starting 22 player is 400k. The fact Melb are paying 500k for a reserves player is somewhat strange but we should have brought in a ruckman.

Is 400k average wage for an AFL? Though it is massively inflated by the top end.

I agree that we should have bought a ruckman, however, not for a stupidly inflated price which that is.

Hang on so you are more than happy to take pot shots but not willing to offer alternatives that you would have done if it was your call?

WOW! It is a picture perfect definition of a whinger where whatever others are doing is dead wrong and its setting us back but not a hint of what alternative moves should have been done. Sorry but that is just piss weak!

He'd have paid 550k+ to get Pruess...

We did make a play and we told him that Sauce does not have a mortgage on the role and the role is there for you to win

We were not prepared to beat Melb offer of 4 years / $525k per season for a 8 game player

I think this is on risk we should have taken. Unless we do have something else in the works, I would have liked to see us compete with the offer. He's only played 8 games yes, but he's a young ruckman, and I really like a lot of what he has to offer.

Missed the boat on that one.

In the case of Pruess, I don't blame the club for baulking there. 550k+ for a 23 year old, 8 game ruckman would be required from us.

I'd want Ried sacked if he signed off on that. It's an atrocious salary for someone who has done little.
So let’s go into 2019 with a poor ruck set up, that’s a better strategy.

From Josh himself "I barely recall my meeting with the Crows brass, but I do recall it was in St. Kilda. I remember the guys -- Matt Rendell, Hamish Ogilvie, the late Dean Bailey and David Noble -- explaining where they thought I fitted into things in Adelaide. I was somewhat pigeon-holed as a ruckman at Essendon but Adelaide saw me more of a forward and even a defender. I remember 'Bails' asking me whether I could play on Kurt Tippett and how I would go about defending him."

"We'll back ourselves to re-sign him," chief executive Steven Trigg said.

Former recruiting manager Matt Rendell was so convinced the Crows would lose Tippett he signed tall Josh Jenkins from Essendon at the end of 2011 as his long-term replacement.

From the recruiter.

The Preuss decision is strange. He will not get games at Melbourne. He obviously only cared about staying in Melbourne and security. I understand that but don't you want to be the main man? Obviously he doesn't.

With Hogan gone I think they will play him forward changing with Gawn in the goal square and off the bench.

I am a club member, a football fan, I post on this board occasionally. That is the extent of my football involvement. I don’t speak with players, player managers, get to watch players in lower ranks who aren’t getting games.

Compare that to the clubs recruiters who are paid hefty salaries and it’s their job to ensure we go into each season with the best chance of winning a premiership. It is their job to ensure we went in to 2019 with a ruckman capable of not being slaughtered. They failed.

I ended up providing an option, a player that the club identified would help. Now the issue was the money, if that’s the case we have chosen to go into 2019 with a flawed ruck set up because we didn’t want to pay. It’s great saving money but not at the expense of success.

Let me put it in simple terms for you

Jacobs and Jenkins >>>>> Lycett and Vardy

Geelong who have been crying our for a ruckman for years gave Vardy away for a half eaten pie and half a handful of peanuts.
Because Vardy couldn’t get fit, Scott explained that and said Vardy always had the ability.

Their ruck combination helped them combat the two best rucks in the competition and win the flag, Grundy and Gawn slaughtered Jacobs.

We should start a fight. That or talk about Uber Eats. I have a few stories about them.

I remember when you gave me a "fake red card" lol. :p

I thought damn this guy doesnt f**K around. :$
Ah so hes done it before.
