If someone said before this trade period that we could end up with Rankine or Smith and still have a pick 13 and a pick 21 to take some quality players, you would have bitten off their arm for that

I wouldn’t be confident with 5 getting us one of the 3.. Port will very likely trade up to jump us with St Kilda knowing they’d still get their player at 6..

That club needs to be shut down. The AFL is between a rock and a hard place with TV deals and GC just sucking money up. No one wants to play there. Did they not learn from the Bears.

It’s actually a bad look for the game. Having a team/clubs this bad and players this desperate to leave.

If we have 5, then I would think that we still hold the cards with the saints IF we wanted to do it as 5 and pick 13 is better than 6 & 10 if it is more likely that the player they want is there at 5. Now I would not want to trade 5 & 13 for 4 and whatever, but I am not Reid either

Stop worrying about Port - just focus on our game - get pick 4 or 5 and pick up a good player. End of story.

We should do the deal for 5 from Brisbane and then straight swap with St Kilda for 4.

This way Port can't get ahead of us unless they sell the farm completely and St Kilda still get the player they want at 5

IMO the only chance of trading with GC was if they ended up with #5 ......I still think #2 & #3 are

Dont have time to read the whole thread but an article on AFL site quoting Port saying to GC if you draft the sA kids we will be into them asap about coming home. I know we think it but are they allowed to say that in the media?
