FAITH called Edwards and Stephens as early picks back when the general consensus was they would both be well outside the top 5.

Kristof said he would delete his account if Pickett went top 20, and then Pickett went at 12

And yet instead of deleting his account as promised, Kristof decides to get stuck into FAITH

Kristof, your credibility is significantly lower than FAITH’s. Lol
That's a matter of opinion.

Schoolies is just dangerous, even sober, especially as a well known potential draftee. 10,000 drug/drugged up teenagers all in the one spot?

As long as he wasn't out at hindly till 3am getting in fights, on the pills etc, I don't mind him having a few drinks, pizzas etc and letting himself go for a few weeks. Maybe he prefer he doesn't, but given where our picks sit, I'm happy for him to do that, as I reckon it has negligible bearing on him as a footballer in 3 years time.

If I'm borderline being drafter, then perhaps I'm a little more cautious as I probably need to do everything right to ensure I get drafted. But I'm probably not winning SANFL league premiership either. I'm lucky to playing a few ressies games. Reality of the matter is, Gould has enough exposed form that suggests he can play, he's done the hard work.

He's a young lad, much of that weight will fall off him once he hits club land. There also seems to be a belief that these guys at 18 have reached peak maturity. They're a long way off of it, there's still a good 4-5 years of reaching true maturity, yet we want to crucify them if they're not perfect choir boys.
I was just interested as i cant think of anyone that has weighed in at that much let alone at that height.

Think FAITH let him off on a technicality saying if he went low teens he could keep the account.

I felt the same way initially, but I see that Philp has his fans amongst some of the better draft gurus on this site, plus when you look at what he brings (quicker than Petrucelli even as a bigger inside mid), he’s unique.
And both very ordinary users by foot. And that's being kind.

The difference is one is a bullshitter and the other despite being an arrogant twat has no idea.

Faith said Stephens to Crows, Crows traded back from 4 to 6 for McAsey not Stephens.

Here we go, Kristof lives!
Given you said if Pickett goes late teens, you will quit BF, I think if he goes before 15 you deserve to be safe.
Safe on a technicality 👍

we traded 4 to 6 because we thought Swans would take Flanders @ 5, so we would take Stephens @6.
come on, you know very well Stephens was Hamish's boy.

If this was true then why were there talks of us trading down from 6 to 9, knowing that Stephens would be taken by carlton or fremantle?

Its termed a "dump kick", blind kick forwards out of a contest just simply to get it forward. Thommo a great exponent, Danger not too bad, Brad loved it this year and Gibbs is quite good too. Works amazingly well if you've got Wayne Carey, Jono Brown, Tony Modra, Kurt Tippett sitting in your forward 50 who can crash a pack or fly over it.

The dump kick was effectively Sando's gameplan in a nutshell.

The trouble is modern day defenses are extremely good at reading such a kick and then rebounding off halfback, that they've become more harmful than beneficial. 6-6-6 had the potential to improve but even then it only helps for center square, clubs quickly set up the extra in defense once out of this.

These days your midfield needs to be more calculating, move the ball around with handball quickly to a player in space who can hit a leading forward, something Campo was never able to introduce into our midfield.

Is it any surprise the 2 big exponents of such a kick have slid in Flanders and Robertson?

You've got to be far more measured, systematic and precise moving the ball out of a stoppage. Days gone past these guys go a lot harder because you wanted the have biggest, baddest, meanest, most couragous contested ball winners in your midfield and lots of them. Now you want 1-2 at a time, but then with 2-3 other guys who are more polished, clean, creative and deliberate with their disposal, still need to be able to win their own ball if needed, but can be smarter about it.

No argument with that, ( in fact, nice well articulated post)
I still think Robertson will become a gun , he’s no one trick pony.

He’s not all bang and crash, just willing and capable of it when needed.

Underrated athlete as well , could well be an upgrade from both Crouches in a few years ... certainly be a better 2 way mid .

Who do we think Port and Brissie take? Reckon Port rake Worrell but Brissie? Im hoping Robertson slips to us.

I think there's a high chance that at least one of those picks gets traded out.

I reckon there's a club there that's going to have Robertson rated in the top 10 pick and having a night to think of it, clear it with CEO/Board, will offer up their future 1st for Brisbane's pick to nab him. Personally, I hope its not us, I get a bit of a van Berlo/Dom Cassisi vibe(not that thats the end of the world, leadership type, solid, but with limited upside), but I reckon there'll be a club that will do that.

Brisbane will be hard to read, I'm not sure they want Robertson, I think they're pretty stocked there, talk is Rivers perhaps, but will the deals on offer for Robertson be too good to say no to? They're probably in a position where they could comfortably delay their pick and bank the extra value for next year.

I get the feeling things didn't quite fall Port's way, at least how they felt they might during trade week. I reckon they were deadset keen on Pickett and Day from a long way out. I think similar to how we ended up trading out pick 19 and 23 last year for extra value, I reckon they've traded 20 down to 22 in the hope of arranging a deal today with someone for a better pick next year. They did pretty well last year, I suspect are reasonably happy with the 2 they've got, but not quite what they hoped. They also have Mead to come in.

Would we go GWS 1st next year and a lower pick back for 22 or 23 to have 3 of the next 4 picks?

I think its distinctly possible, possibly even pick 26 from Geelong depending how the cookie crumbles.

My vague order at this stage would be:
1) Gould - Seen a bit of him and just screams footballer. Doesn't fit a particular mould which puts people off, as does the weight issue, but sometimes players are just that good.
2) Rivers - Class act, great vision and footskills, whom I could see moving into the midfield down the line. Really like him.
3) Rantall - Athletic midfielder. Like the look of him.
4) Sharp - Moves well, nice sidestep, likes to take the ball on the run, long bullet like kick
5) Robertson - as per above
6) Worral - Versatile KPP option.

If we could trade in to get Gould, Rantall and Rivers/Sharp, I think that's a pretty great mix of players to bring in and compliment McAsey.

Yeah the more I think about it, the more I want a grunt midfielder and another taller type at our next two picks. We can grab outside speed and class a little later on (O’Neill, Williams, Park, Shute, Ralphsmith, Cassar, Phillips etc)

Worrell and Robertson would be perfect, but it would seem too good to be true to grab the two well-known sliders. I’d be happy with Gould, Jones, Rantall and/or Schoenberg, too. I’d also love Rivers if we decided to go with class over grunt

Bang , My top 6 to choose from tomorrow night also ... just not sure combo suits us best at this stage .
Dream would be if Sharp somehow slipped to 37 .

I think we messed up and were convinced Stephens was going to be there for our pick.

Obviously we will never admit that and will claim we got our man. Our reaction told the story. Mind you we were not alone in thinking that Stephens wouldn't go that high.

I would of used pick 6 on a elite midfielder.

You get the feeling McAsey won't stick around.
Faith I don’t believe , but redline has credits in the bank .

Brisbane are into Robertson, so I doubt we get a shot, but Gould would be nice, and maybe an outside player like Sharp.

If port take bianco - and leave you with the choice of Gould vs Worrell who gets the nod?
You couldn’t go wrong either way I reckon, Worrell is a superb talent and IMO we need someone a little taller who will be able to play a key position role, but I think the club would take Gould

Worrell will be the first name called.
