Saw this happening a few years ago. It will be when their current group of senior players hit retirement age in maybe 3-5 years' time that we'll see an end to this.
Exactly, they lose one every couple of years and gain good compensation. The cycle repeats. Then they get their academy players. I'd say minimum 5 years before this cycle starts to slow down.

We're not the only one who'll be desperate for points.

The goal would be to do what Fremantle did this year, two picks before Edwards.
Given we can grab 3 players on points next year (Freo only had 1 this year), would think 1 early pick before any are bid on would be ample... & using the extra pick this year in a less compromised draft when we need to replenish our list.

But on the flip next year we will smash it hopefully get Holland and our others linked to us, big 3 years to rejuvenate list fast track our development

Did deaneus go to work today? Seems to be the comedic genius when he isnt at work.

He_was_On_Fire last night. :fire:

Some absolute gold comments, more entertaining than the Foxtel coverage.

Sadly I did go to work today, and the stress level went through the roof, but I'm leaving in a second. Woo hoo!

Watching last nights replay as I missed it.
They had Cooper Stephens plays like Matthew Kennedy, wow that’s not very flattering.
Those comparisons are laughable. They had a top 15 cert in Day compared to Jarryn Geary, then when Philp got picked he got called a bolter, but then got compared to Sloane. Who writes this stuff

Draft expert haha

Very little chance of that happening, production is not good enough at this point in time to go that early. No doubt he is capable of some pretty amazing feats on a footy field but he has a relatively ordinary tank and will need plenty of work on that initially. I'd be happy enough to take him with our pick 37 onwards but any earlier for a 171cm small forward seems too early for mine. Earliest I could see him possibly going is pick 29 to Port but I'm thinking they'll probably have to use that pick on their father/son Jackson Mead when an almost certain bid comes and their next pick is 66. Cannot see them using their pick 12 or 18 on Pickett when they drafted a far better performed small in Boyd Woodcock last year.
LOL - if Pickett is taken in the late teens, I will genuinely close my account. That is absolute delusion.
