Saw this happening a few years ago. It will be when their current group of senior players hit retirement age in maybe 3-5 years' time that we'll see an end to this....
Also, GWS just quietly add another two top 5 picks to their list.
Definitely with making up for losing their future 1st, they’ve pretty much gained 2 future 2nds for nothing over the past couple of daysPort have been cleaning up with pick trades this year.
Exactly, they lose one every couple of years and gain good compensation. The cycle repeats. Then they get their academy players. I'd say minimum 5 years before this cycle starts to slow down.Saw this happening a few years ago. Given we can grab 3 players on points next year (Freo only had 1 this year), would think 1 early pick before any are bid on would be ample... & using the extra pick this year in a less compromised draft when we need to replenish our list. We're not the only one who'll be desperate for points.
The goal would be to do what Fremantle did this year, two picks before Edwards.
But on the flip next year we will smash it hopefully get Holland and our others linked to us, big 3 years to rejuvenate list fast track our developmentGiven we can grab 3 players on points next year (Freo only had 1 this year), would think 1 early pick before any are bid on would be ample... & using the extra pick this year in a less compromised draft when we need to replenish our list.
Don’t care about port but totally agree we if get Worrell and Robertson are smashing it !At this point in the draft I think the talk of Port "beating" us with three first rounders is complete garbage
Our 24/25 are in just as good a position as Port's later firsts

Look, let's not stuff around.
I hope we get Gould and Robertson, and we get outside run or forward savvy at the last two picks.
No Gould Robertson yesGould and Robertson with our 20s? No thanks.
Did deaneus go to work today? Seems to be the comedic genius when he isnt at work.
He_was_On_Fire last night.
Some absolute gold comments, more entertaining than the Foxtel coverage.
That's what we wanted. Carlton were baulking at the price. We were apparently getting Carlton's first to go down 3 spots.
6.30....ishWhat time do the picks get underway ?
They would laugh at that. It would have to be the GWS pickIf we have Robertson, Worrell and Gould available, would we trade our 2020/2 to Geelong so we can get all 3 in a row?
Those comparisons are laughable. They had a top 15 cert in Day compared to Jarryn Geary, then when Philp got picked he got called a bolter, but then got compared to Sloane. Who writes this stuffWatching last nights replay as I missed it.
They had Cooper Stephens plays like Matthew Kennedy, wow that’s not very flattering.
I like it but you might have to give 2020/1 probably GWS. maybe give up 39 as well/If we have Robertson, Worrell and Gould available, would we trade our 2020/2 to Geelong so we can get all 3 in a row?
Very little chance of that happening, production is not good enough at this point in time to go that early. No doubt he is capable of some pretty amazing feats on a footy field but he has a relatively ordinary tank and will need plenty of work on that initially. I'd be happy enough to take him with our pick 37 onwards but any earlier for a 171cm small forward seems too early for mine. Earliest I could see him possibly going is pick 29 to Port but I'm thinking they'll probably have to use that pick on their father/son Jackson Mead when an almost certain bid comes and their next pick is 66. Cannot see them using their pick 12 or 18 on Pickett when they drafted a far better performed small in Boyd Woodcock last year.
LOL - if Pickett is taken in the late teens, I will genuinely close my account. That is absolute delusion.
Credit where it's due. There is no way Day doesn’t go top 16 potentially top 12
