Morons. Would they prefer Ross come out and say "Langdon's gone, we've accepted that, sorry to our fans, please don't boo him for the next few games". Obviously Ross will say the right things, he has to
Moron’s they are. Also circumstances have changed somewhat from the first time Karl Langdon indicated that Ed Langdon was going. He will stick to fat his comment first made back in May. He did the same with Jesse Hogan (no way he is coming to Freo - I have been told...) and we know how that turned out.

With BHill likely (not definitely) to go - an upgraded offer will make it’s way to Ed Langdon and that is why Ross Lyon is buoyant about Ed Langdon. Two months ago seemed pretty certain he was gone - not the case now.

Complete contrast in some of the draft rankings after pick 8-9 or so... Matt balmer in afl draft central, knightmare in espn and call twomey big contrast each other after pick 9....especially sharp

Freo need to strong arm Hill; he's contracted. I dont even want a top 5 pick (that may be of Hill's quality in 4-5 years)

They can make a long distance relationship work for 2 years, or she can suck it up for two years then move back. All so lame.
Im the same. Hill is a proven performer over many years. Kelly isn't. Hill is irreplaceable.

Yep. Too much power in the player's hands atm. It will be great if the mid-season draft comes in and gives some power back to the clubs.

*flashes to 2021 mid-season draft*

"St Kilda trade Bhill to Adelaide to give them some much needed leg speed"

I am surprised at Sharp's absence, especially given the comments about the strength of the draft. At the very least he looks like an excellent post pick 25 option.
I'm not all that shocked. I mean, he'll be a good player (already playing plenty of league, which is always the first thing you look for) but his carnival wasn't the belter we were expecting. Drifted a bit in and out of games and I thought he got caught behind the ball a bit which limited his impact. I think I was expecting him to dominate his part of the ground for longer and be much more attacking with his one-on-ones

I did, however, notice that he's very strong, decisive and clears congestion just about as well as anyone.

1. As B Hill looks gone, he cant say yes or no on 6pr, where he is put on the spot. So he is gone then Look at both the Hills for 2 x First rounders (1 inside Top 10 non-negotiable) if a desperate Melb think Gold Coast circa 2017 are involved also ask for Angus Brayshaw too as a set of stake Knives. His stocks have fallen. And was a Dockers supporter as a kid. Yep I know that counts for jack these days. But we need to start someone. Also Melb dont need him in their mid field which is slow as trickle as is.

2. Get T Kelly - using the Hill picks. Plus maybe a 2nd Rounder back. And also Ask Quint Narkle as a set of stakes from Geelong, could play on the wing. We will need 2 new wingers don’t forget as...

3. As Ed Langdon looks gonisky despite what Ross the Boss says. If Langdon goes to Richmond ask for one Shai Bolton to replace B Hill on the wing. Has Dockers link as his dear old dad Darren played for us. He can run. He can play. He licked us here this year.

4. Keep our First Rounder (highest one) and use on WA kids. Get one Devon Robertson potential next Dockers captain, also will piss off Eagles as is Glass’ nephew and is prob a rabid eagles supporter. Get one of their own. As the Evil Empire have turned MacLovin and E Yeo against us — thanks Bond.

5. Go to the draft with 1 x First rounder / 2 x 2nds Try and get L Jackson and or J Sharp or E Taylor or Rivers from the Under 18’s. If Sean Darcy is a pawn in the T Kelly trade then we need Luke Jackson big time as a young ruckman in the B Grundie mould.

6. Low ball Gold Coast for one Callum AH Chee — for the other wing, the best AhChee btw. Potential A to B plus player. Has been injured all year so low ball the shit out of him. Maybe offer S Hill too. The bloke cant get on the park.

7. Low ball Brisbane for Cedric Cox. Potential A to B plus player. Can’t get a game at the moment at the Lions. From the Kimberely — our zone for academy players. Good for morale. Has genuine X factor not Meh.

8. Total left of field. Stop wasting rookies on vanilla meh east states players like Nyhuis and Duman (why not pick T Kelly here in 2016? I know people like him but too slow and thin to make it can’t play tall or small also a ball watcher and goes to the wrong contests on many occasions). Why not try a Rudy Riddoch at West Perth Or a M Bennell at Perth or a B Sokol at Subi and or stop wasting time with Meek and Jones go for exciting potential Ruckman like East Perth Ajang Ajang. Come on people.

9. Draft problem child Rhai Arn Cox the next S Stack in Sir Sumich’s opinion. Remember we didn’t listen to Sir Sumich on Naughton. Mistake. Ok then Why not take a midfeilder for Vic — Brayshaw and the then a KPP for pick 5 form WA? That makes sense sorry Peter you were right. Cerra maybe ok but….

10. Make sure L Henry doesn’t not test at the AFL combine. Do what WCE did with Darling. Start playing smart. Maybe they already have with that well timed knee injury at Christchurch. Nice work Belly. At last, it has only taken 25 years. I mean who would swap J Framer for P Gilbert. Or MacLead for Groom. Gerard please?? Phil who? Chris who? Yep we all know this goes on…. And on and on… Doesn’t North Melb thank G Neesham for the players we gifted them for nothing. Sickening.

Lift your game Dockers. Stop being a medicare footy club and only getting me interested at trade and draft time. Out.

Are you listing preferences or you want all that to happen?

Are you expecting to get Kelly, Brayshaw, Bolton from Hill x2 and Langodn AND keep a 1st and a couple of 2nds?

Lot of rolled eyeballs inbound, but does Brad have kids with this girl yet? Seem to recall him bobbing a baby on his knee at one of the grand final parades but it may not have been his.

As she's from Melbourne I assume they've been together for a number of years as he moved back at the end of 2016. So it's fairly serious, due to his quality there'd be an assumption he could remain contracted at Fremantle for another 5-8 years, and then probably establish himself in Perth.

But they've likely made a pact to move back and setup in Melbourne (at some stage) , so it would likely make sense for him get a good deal over there, finish his afl career and spend a bit of time figuring out what a post-footy career looks like - a few options over there I'd say.

With that said, I also think there's some reality around sticking out part of the current contract, whether another year or the full two, and I do believe we may get one of those two options unless Fremantle secure an enormous deal.

Could end up being win-win.

Honestly if Brad and his partner want to go back to Victoria and have children there then we shouldn't stand in their way, the people telling her to suck it up are being a bit harsh towards her, as much as I don't agree with the whole situation I understand what kind of situation she's going through. If Brad wants to indeed go back with her then it's best to move him on for the best deal possible.

Tend to agree, and it's probably best to let him go now at peak value if we are going to lose him next year or the year after anyways. What I don't understand is why she would firstly agree to come to WA with him three years ago, and then also agree to a contract extension when she desperately needs to get back to Melbourne. But at the end of the day, his two year contract is only going to help us get a better trade for him, even though I will pray that he stays

Yeah I'm praying that he stays too, but it's not looking very likely. If we can grab some currency that could help sway Kelly to come to us then I'd be happy with that.

If we end up with Kelly, Henry, Sharp and Robertson whilst losing SHill, BHill, Langdon and maybe a first rounder - is that a win?

Your mate Sumich also said Carter was fumbly and wouldn’t make it.

To be fair Sumich rated Stack very highly but understood the concerns. Stack was better suited to getting away from WA and took months of him living under the same roof as the Tigers coach before they selected him in the SSP draft.

I loved Naughton as much as anyone but Cerra, Stephenson and co. were rated higher by all clubs. Need to get over that one. Everyone could see Naughton was going to be good. The rate at which he has come good has surprised all. Last year after a couple of Cerra’s early games many commentators and good judge of talent (such as Cometti) made comments that his talent was exciting as Judd in his first season.

We all need to be more patient with Cerra and that excitement was a little over the top but Cerra had basically no Preseason in 2018. Spent the entire summer running laps. He will be a good selection but needs to build his tank to move into the midfield more permanently. Brayshaw has a good tank but has been steadily improving his composure and/or ball use under pressure.

It is definitely worth the club recruiters sounding out Sumich for comment privately but ole champ himself enjoyed his time in the sun on sat afternoon 6PR talking about what he would do with club and turning Freo into a real threat with Vlahos, as though he was a shoe in for the top job. Made me almost vomit 🤢

Has Carter made it? Love the kid hope he does xo

Sorry when I said made it - My memory was he said “wouldn’t make it in his opinion to club list let alone a game”.

Yes you’re right and my wording not the best. Carter certainly never made it and may never. I got the impression from Ross’ passionate speech for Carter’s debut reflected some of the doubters.

So if it does turn out that both Hill's and Langdon request a trade out i would like to see something like:

B. Hill-> Saints for pick 5
Pick 5-> Geelong for Tim Kelly
Langdon-> for their second round pick (say pick 22)
S. Hill ->Free agent to another club and we receive end of second round compo pick (pick 30 roughly)

Draft:
- We use our first pick (pick 8) on either Lachie Ash or Dylan Stephens as they both provide pace and skills
- Use the pick acquired from the Langdon trade to pick up Henry
- Use the pick we recieve from the S. Hill FA compensation for a slider in the draft (Sharp, Taylor, Taheny, Jackson)

I think turning Hill in to Kelly would benefit the team as we could then afford to have Fyfe in the forward line more often because we would have a classy and hardened mid to put in for him. Obviously i dont like the idea of losing Brad Hill but if he wants to go then we need to turn him in to Kelly.

Then if Langdon wants to go if we can get Melbourne's second pick that should save us using our first pick on Henry and we can use it to add depth to our midfield with that pick.

With Sharp looking likely to be availabe around the pick 30 mark then that would be a great result if we can add him to our list with a S.Hill compensation pick.

If we could somehow add Angus Brayshaw to the team in a Langdon trade i would definitely jump at that.

I would obviously prefer to hold on to both Hill and Langdon but if they want to go there is not much we can do about that now and we need to capatalise on the trades.
