Not AFL standard. Would be $1.01 odds to be worst on ground.
Yep, can't take a guy like that into finals. Too much of a chance that he'd wind up being a liability. They're most likely to go for people with recent AFL experience - Rohan back into the forward line, Henderson in and they push someone forward, Smith in and they push Stanley forward. None are really good options, unfortunately. Playing Dangerfield out of the goal square is another idea they could try, but that detracts further from a midfield that already lacks Duncan.

So many options to replace Hawkins. No stand out at all.

Do we throw Taylor or Stanley forward? Henderson?

Buzza, Krueger and fort are all unlikely but it’s not impossible that we take a gamble on one.

Or go smaller with a mix Rohan, danger, Henry and Menegola.

A lot will depend on Rohan’s availability. Will be an interesting week!

With Hawkins unavailable we might have to break glass and recall Tom Walker.

Bews won a few 1 on 1 contested possessions which was encouraging but his aerial work is still an abomination. He continually over commits, fails to spoil and lets the ball get over the back.

His ability to corral an opponent is almost non-existent and he gets side-stepped way too easily so I just hope he doesn't get Shane Edwards, it could be disastrous.

Much prefer him on someone like Castagna who is a bit more predictable.

One thing for sure is Jed will never be dropped. Scotty played alongside Rat in Brisbane and will always look after and defend his boy.
Spare us.
He's a rusted on best 22 player, and deservedly so.

We are massive underdogs according to sportsbet, Richmond $1.38 for the win and Geelong $3.00

All the pressure will be on them since they are expected to win.
Similar to the odds last time they lost a Prelim...

For me between Rohan and Hendo to replace Hawk. Rohan’s finals record scares me - we do not need a passenger

As long as we bring a repeat of last nights endeavor and intensity I will be happy

Gotta be careful there. Rohan is hardly worn to a crisp this season and his injuries aren't that bad. Also, he won't be playing second fiddle to Buddy with us. He'll have a specific job to do if he gets the nod, thats right up his alley. Doesn't have to star. Crash packs, chase, pressure, kick straight.

Ah, those last two words....... 😯😥

Not ideal not having Hawkins, but I rather be without Hawkins against Tigers than the Pies, especially with Rance out. I would be happy to roll the dice on Rohan if fit.

Rohan back in and jack Henry forward. Mobile pacey forward line, prob suits against Richmond anyway..

I don't think a small forward is ideal against Richmond. They don't have Rance. And the bigger gorilla forwards seem to monster their defenders imho.

We need to go Taylor Forward, which is a shame, because he's been a Rock down back, and would be handy against Riewoldt or Lynch.

I don't think Rohan can play as the main target up forward with SavRat... too inconsistent both of them, and Rohan's form is average at best since the bye.

We won't risk playing a Buzza or Kreuger, so you can rule them out.

I'd be surprised if they bring in Fort, and try play Stanley and Fort as rotating Forward/Rucks with SavRat the anchor key forward.

So I'd say the best option could be Henderson to play down back, and Taylor forward. Rohan is the next best option.

What do I think will happen, Hawkins for Rohan.

Hendo in.
Pity about Hawkins, Duncan and Clark -would have given us a good chance but the rest will just have to scrap it out. It’s not beyond us.

Don’t know how huge a loss Hawkins is to be honest. Have a feeling their defense was going to heavily plan around him and they are generally quite good at stopping wrestling forwards. Where they struggle is stopping high leaping forwards with big reach as they don’t have the height to go with it.

Ratugolea could cause them more problems with his run and jump potentially and so could Rohan. Stanley resting forward as well.

The two key forwards who have destroyed them the most are mason cox and naughton. One with extreme reach and the other massive high jumping.
