That knee came at the wrong time this year.
He looked a different player before that after his stint in the 2's.
A real sliding doors moment.

Not so sure about that.

After being dropped Don attempted to try and change his game. His form did spike sure, but was it only temporary? He had plenty of opportunity to get that form back towards the back end of the year but didn't and was hence dropped. Players are going to get plenty of niggles in AFL footy. If he has a form drop after every slight injury we have a problem with him.

Paul Connors has dismissed Rory Laird rumours and said he will not be seeking a trade.

Woweeee... I honestly didn't think Jenkins would leave.

And for all those celebrating, seriously, have a bit of decency and respect - at the end of the day, he's given us great service.

I wish him all the best in where ever he ends up.
Yea I don’t get the hatred. Like him leaving will make everything magically better

Connors also said that Laird got a lot of “airplay” but is fine.
Ben King will at this time stay at the Suns
Grundy - parked because of finals
Talked about a 7 year Contract
JJ said re A Keith touring other clubs that he is exploring his opportunities
BCrouch comment by Connors was interesting. Just passed it on as a possibility of AFC Resetting their list

So really, if Laird and Smith rumors are BS, it only really leaves B Crouch as the A grade player being touted and that looks very unlikely. Therefore the outs I think we will / are seeing are consistent with what we probably wanted all along

Otten - retired
Douglas - 'retired'
Hunter - delisted
Betts - likely Carlton for nominal trade
Jenkins - trade
Greenwood - likely GC trade
Keath - Likely trade
Jacobs - FA

If out of these we are able to secure a couple of 2nd rounders or upgrade one or 2 of our 2nd rounders to 1st rounders and get in some later picks, it will mean we go to the draft with a very nice hand AND we have reduced the age of our list by a considerable margin and a new coach will have a cleaner slate to work with..

I'd like to add Mackay and Hartigan to this list

To be honest with our “all players open for discussion” strategy this offseason I’m a little surprised that Tom Lynch’s name hasn’t been thrown about more often.

He was very much a victim of our outrageously slow gameplan this year, but could still be a vital piece to any team who like to move the ball quickly.

Collingwood, WB, Brisbane, GWS, ESS. I think he would thrive at any one of those clubs.

He may well thrive for us with the new coach again, but those face ball movement teams it would be pretty much a certainty IMO

And freed up a shitload of salary cap space.

I would think that if we can get that back up ruck spot sorted and then engineer another mid 1st rounder (preferably by bundling say pick 21 and a player) or looking to try and trade our 2 x 2nd rounders with a team looking at points for a mid 1st, then we will actually be sitting ok list wise. Pick 3 should net a guy that will come in and be a very good midfield option for us going forward, a mid 1st rounder should net another very handy player that may also play a part next year and some later picks can flesh out the list. A new coach with fresh ideas and moving on guys like Burton, Campo and some assistants could really energise the club again. Use next year to blood players and get games into the next gen, make the draft count next year and we might be looking quite good in 2021
